Re: Dim Headlamp
Check the ground on the inner fender. IIRC, that's where the headlight grounds are for 2000's.
In 2001, they were moved to the upper core support tie bar near the headlights.

Re: Random posting
I got some pretty bad intake backfires when the TPS began to fail, and it was the only time it ever got a TPS/MAP correlation code. SBEC seems to take much more to throw that one compared to NGC. The only symptom before that was the Cruise Control would randomly cancel, then just refused to set. It ...

Yeah, if it doesn't like the TPS voltage, it does some odd things.
I discovered that when I made mine adjustable when playing with the 60mm TB on my '01.
At least you didn't get a nice IM backfire....

The biggest issue with the 8 valve heads is they crack between the intake and exhaust valves. Which can leak coolant into the combustion chamber. Nearly every 2.2/2.5 engine we had developed cracks. Not all leaked, about half did. The best one was the Lebanon GTC, at 69,999 miles sitting at the deal...

I ran the 195 50 16 size once. They were way too harsh on the bumps with the eibach springs and Tokico struts.
I went with the 205 50 16 and never looked back. I didn't see much loss in performance/handling but they sure rode nicer.

I did some touch up and replaced the pull start rope on our snowblower back in November, basically ensuring that we won't get any snow.

Those issues have long been resolved. Just like the neon head gaskets. Maybe we should all knock anything with a 2.0 and 2.4 because of something that Chrysler fucked up on years ago. SMH ... Foresters are selling faster than Subaru can make them. That speaks volumes. Meanwhile Stellantis vehicles a...

Re: 2023 Hornet
Had a weird thought yesterday, if I needed to buy an efficient family hauler tomorrow, what's out there. Depends on how big a family. The Forester starts at $27,000 and I can easily get 34 mpg highway with mine. You could get an Impreza for $23,000, but it would be a bit tighter. The capabilities i...

They haven't posted posted for over 10 years. I doubt you'll get a reply.
Most likely the air sensor in the air filter inlet causing the issue.
How are things going over there in Russia?

Re: Pumping brakes causes idle problem
It could also be just the air being displaced by the brake booster. If it settles down right after you stop pumping the pedal, it's somewhat normal. The IAC valve is probably opening a bit to compensate.
The IAC is basically a PCM controlled vacuum leak.

Same here, I don't have the vacation time I used to. Going from 6 weeks to one really sucks. I can get up to a potential of $1500 to $2000 a year for perfect attendance, so that's an expensive trip to Carlisle.

Re: Some things everyone should know (but may not)
I wouldn't expect any answers from the above posters, as only a few of us are around theses days. The SRT-D is no different than a regular neon as far as the engine. There is zero benefit to anything above 87 octane. The 2003 and up 2.0 is 9.3:1 compression, compared to the 2002 and older which was ...
