Re: Looks like it’s time for an engine swap

The engine bracket is the part the PS pump/belt tensioner/ are on that's bolted to the engine covering the timing cover. And the 2.4 DOHC engine must be 2003 to 2010. I got away with the stock 21 lb injectors in my '99 swap, with the 58 psi fuel pressure regulator. But the 1gn PCM's are also tuned f...

Yeah, I remember being shocked when reading the Owner's Manual for my SRT and finding out that I had to buy new tires for a new vehicle since DaimlerChrysler didn't recommend using the stock tires for winter driving.
But it hasn't actually been driven much in the winter has it?

$276,000 - it would be gone!

Who's going to go through all that trouble to clone an R/T? Exactly. The VIN alone would tell you it's an R/T. To buy the PCM, Intake manifold, header/catalytic converter, Transaxle, you had better have had a donor car, or you would have had more in parts than the car was worth. As long as the stic...

Until the market is gone.

Kind of a risky move. How many people beside the handful of neon enthusiasts left are going to shell out that kind of money?

They might have those for a long time, then just toss them because they aren't moving.

Re: 2005 Neon 2.0 SOHC Valves - Replacement

The best thing is to call and confirm. Getting triple groove valves will be the easiest, and probably cheapest if the retainers and locks/keepers are not included. The retainers must also match the keepers as the angle is slightly different between triple and single groove keepers. I recall this fro...

Re: The Official eBay, Craigslist, etc Links Thread for Cars

If the car had not been rear ended from the looks of it, the rest of what can be seen looks pretty clean. If it weren't for that damage, it would be well worth $1500 for a rust free shell. You ain't going to get bodywork that cheap. But who knows what's behind the rear fascia. The trunk lid and fasc...

Re: solenoid soundoff....

It's the IAC solenoid on the throttle body. It is held fully open in the "run" * position with the engine off. That's how the engine gets enough air to start with the throttle plate closed. It can and will sing you a song at times. *The key position is usually called "RUN" Forward (clockwise) from "...

Re: What is this ?

The heat exchanger commonly develops a leak, that can either pump atf into the coolant, or coolant into the atf, or both.

Coolant in the atf is fatal if it caught quickly.

I have an automatic 2002 SE,....., besides a new radiator leak. Radiator leak is probably a blessing. Given how the factory radiator and integral ATF heat exchanger like to mix fluids, that leak just may save your transaxle. Replace it, don't even think about fixing it, not that plastic/aluminum ra...

The smarter approach would be to sell a non emissions lifestyle to the kids in school, and teach them how to do it. A lot of people are obviously pro electric, for now, let that be their choice. Let it be developed in a way it will not fail, and be self sufficient. It may take a little longer than 1...

even off-road vehicles and equipment sold in the state are emissions-free by 2035. Plug in that lawn mower and chainsaw after the car is done charging... New York state has passed a new law that bans the sale of gas vehicles starting in 2035, requiring all new cars to be zero emission California also banned the sales of new gas-powered cars by 2035 last year, and Massachusetts followed suit earlier this year. I believe New York also has adopted Cali...

Spray painted over dents and all. You have to wonder if the dealer took it in like that, or did it/farmed it out themselves. At least they could have wet sanded it and buffed it. But then that's tough to do with the emblems in place. And then to have the balls to ask 10 grand. You have to wonder wha...

Maybe try the SKIM lock out reset method: Leaving the ignition on for an hour or so, with a battery charger connected.

If it is a wheel sensor how dangerous is driving around like that until I can get around to replacing it? Brakes work absolutely fine. I think you answered your own question. If the brakes are otherwise functioning as they should, then it should be okay. ABS failures mostly default to normal brake ...

It doesn't have a 140 mph speedometer or SRT gauge cluster does it?

Not sure the brake fault light would be speed related.

Unless it has antilock brakes, and there's a bad wheel sensor?

The '02 engine management is illegal to install into the '04 as far as EPA is concerned. Not an issue if you don't have E-Check AND never sell it with the older engine/engine management. If you sold it, and the buyer had to E-check it, they can make you pay restore it to 2004 MY emissions. Or worse ...
