Re: No VIN so probably not a good idea

Not 26,000 miles, but a more realistic price.

] Wish I had that dude's hair! Wow. Meh, too much hassle. Looking back now, I don't really miss my hair. One less thing to worry about. It was a different matter when it first began, but I knew it was inevitable, so I never really stressed too much about it. I know some men totally freak out over i...

There will be two of me traveling West tomorrow morning.

Might be a bit moist, depending on how fast the weather moves tonight.

And keeping them from rotting away, like the wife's Sundance's rear backing plates. They actually collapsed from the braking torque.

My only option to replace those was to buy an entire rear axle assy from a JY for $125. No one would sell just the backing plates. :cussing:

Was a link in signature. Plus replying to an old post is a tip off. Not always, but anymore, very few people search, or go that far to find a thread.

Re: Dayton Fall meet, October 13, 2018

I wouldn't say the choice of food would be the key factor in my showing up. Chances are if I do make it, it won't be in the neon. Probably not going to get parts in time.

Re: Casper

So, I removed the driver side drum, and one of the shoes fell off when The drum cleared. At least it was semi consistent. :P But with better light on the subject, both wheel cylinders were seeping, and the driver side began to get some fluid on the shoes, probably why they didn't bite hard enough to...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

It will cut the lumens a bit, but probably not drastically. It's not like they are so dark you can't see the bulbs when off. But yes, ultimately it will reduce light output. Even those blue colored bulbs that they sell for big $$ that are supposed to make it better to see, have reduced light output ...

Re: Dodge/Chrysler News

Looks like it was just tack welded, and the actual welding part got forgotten. Something as serious as that, they are voluntarily recalling/stopping sales to save their a$$es from lawsuits, more than being a "good guy". Given they are failing before a hint of rust has happened, and probably before t...

Re: Mods are working OT to beat the bots!

Even using the "Unread Posts" tab, for the mods and admin, it can take a bit of weeding through deleted spam posts to see actual neon related stuff.

To us, since deleted posts have a green recycled emblem, it is like looking at the ocean with a serious algae bloom going on.

Re: search listing

The site is extremely active... if you count all of the Russian spambots. :angryfire: But if searches for this site are not active, then it slides down the list. I don't think it has anything to do with how active the site is, just how active searches are for a neon forum. Given they haven't been s...

Re: search listing

On the bright side if you search "dodge neon forum" SRT forums is three spots below 2gn.org.

Probably depends on the number of hits that a specific site gets for the given search term.

If you search "2gn", 2gn.org is right at the top on Yahoo.

Re: Casper

The drums look pretty good, so I may just have a clean up pass done, as long as they are in spec. It's about $90 to $100 for new ones, ( if I go 5273983AB MSRP $218 Mopar replacements) so If I can avoid spending that, being Christmas is coming up fast... Ebay has cheaper oem options, but if it reall...

Re: Casper

Rear brakes on these generally out live the car. My Dad's Omni had over 300,000 on the original shoes/drums, and they had more meat on them than those. He amassed the 300,000 in much less time than 20 years though, more like under 6 years. Mostly highway miles help too. The average mileage on this o...

Re: Casper

In for carnage pictures. So I pulled the drum, and the shoe linings fell out onto the floor. As bad as it shook the car, and the brake pedal bounced, I was expecting bent up parts at minimum. But it is pretty much just a case of slapping new brake shoes on there. I guess 20 years, and 270,020 miles...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Don't like how I get surface rust on the end of my stud. I hate that! IMHO open end nuts are only good when they have a hub cap over them. Even then I prefer closed ones to prevent corrosion. I have lubed the threads on my lug nuts since I started driving back in 1982, and have yet to have ha...
