My tensioner has a 1/2" square hole in it for the Tensioner wrench or a 1/2" drive breaker bar OR you can make up a tool like I did that'll fit into the square hole. I wonder if it's been replaced at some time and they got the wrong one? It's such a PITA to get to, don't know if I can get into it to...

The 49"(suppose to actually measure 49.5") belt from NAPA didn't fit either. In fact is looked a bit smaller then the 49" Gatorback that didn't fit. Guess I'll just have to run the 50" Gatorback with the marks at "worn out" and not worry about it. I tightened up the Alt. belt a bit, think it might h...

so what's the proper sized belts on a 1gn? (yes i know this is 2gn.org...but i have a 1gn that i just bought a UR UDP for and want to make sure i have the right sized belts. no a/c on my car.) No Idea, you'll probably just have to play "belt tag" like I did until you track down the proper size then...

Everything is metric on this car, and i just checked, it's definitely a 17mm wrench.. a 1/2 is too small, (1/2" = 13.2mm) Not a 1/2(13mm) socket, a 1/2 drive socket wrench which is the same size as the belt tensioner wrench. It's a square hole that 1/2". I'm going to try and get a Gates 490k4 to re...

Just remember to cycle it every now and then, so it stays lubed. Sitting for long periods of time is bad for a/c systems. It is the other (main) reason they tied it to the defrost, to cut down on warranty repairs. Yep, I'll remember. It also help the clutch to keep working too so it won't freeze up...

So that's the "trick" get a NAPA belt in 490. I was going to say, the Gatorback won't even come close to fitting. Oh well, looks like I'll have to make a trip to NAPA, I wonder if I can get my AutoZone employee discount there,LOL.

Does ANYONE make a 49.5" 4 rib belt?

The Gatorback 4040500 has stretched out to the point where when it's wet and I put the A/C on it slips, the 4040490 is too small and won't fit, I need a 495 to fit right, does anyone make such a belt or am I just SOL.

I guess as long as it's not making any noise I'll let it be. I checked it lock to lock with the steering today and it's quite. If it starts to act up I can get a 4040490 and shoe horn onto the pullies, LOL. Anyway, talk to ya'll later.

Well, after a couple weeks the 4040500 has stretched out to the point where the marks on the tensioner are at "worn out", which I know isn't true but still, I'm worried that there's not enough tension on the belt. My only other option in Gatorback is a 4040490 which will be a full inch shorter. Gues...

Those tails still look like Neon tails. If you want to make it look totally different go with a set of Mopar 3D tails. They're completely different then Neon style tails and give the car a real up-dated look.

Perfect spot for supercharger.

Why couldn't you mount a paxton style supercharger where the A/C compressor is now? It'd be out of the way, you could use the same belt(long as you kept the boost reasonable) and plumbing would be simple from intake to intercooler and back to TB. Not sure how you'd handle the MAP sensor deal but I'm...

Ok, I agree, with a sound system that draws a large amount of power from your system idle will totally kill your battery and even at highway speed you'll not be putting out enough current to run your engine/electrical systems AND a high amp sound system. I have a stock CD player in my car so I'm not...

Either way an alt puts out it's max output at around 1500 rpm. Spinning it any faster won't get you any more out of it because of the built in regulator. Since most of us run our engines at around 2K rpm when driving you'll be getting all out of the alt that it'll give. Spinning it any faster won't ...

Current draw on the system should be the same as before you installed the UDP unless you've changed the demands by installing a big ass amp for a stereo or something. As far as alt. output, most alts put max output at just off idle so as long as you keep the rpms up while you're driving, say around ...

Yep, don't want to do away with NGC just be able to tweak it to work with more mods like a 60mm TB or a turbo without the need of going to an aftermarket add on ECU. Something hand held that'll plug into the OBD II port would be great, no need to send off the ECU and we could tweak it to our own nee...

The SXT has a 120 amp alt. so I think you'll be fine. I'm really lovin' my UDP(Unorthodox Racing) and you're right about it not bogging down the A/C like the stock unit did. It had to be one of the best upgrades I've done to my car so far. http://www.autozone.com/N,15700086//shopping/partT...

+1. I've got the Race on the engine mounts and the standard on the tranxaxle and the vibration isn't all that bad. Mostly it's just off idle but goes away quickly as you acclerate.

So you just can't install a new gear on the output shaft of the trans and a new diff gear, you've got to get a totally new trans. Well, that really sucks. Guess I'll have to be happy with 3.55's then.

I may go from Castrol GTX to Motorcraft Blended because as a semi-syn it'll help the engine run easier and it's only a dime more the standard GTX. I don't like the idea of the O2 only being in one cylinder in the long tube headers. If that plug fouled out the entire engine would run lean and you could burn it up. If they'd put the O2 bung in the collector and provide an extention cable for the upstream O2 then the long tube might be a good way...

I"m really supprised at that little extra "pep" having the UDP has given my car. Since it's an SXT with a 125 amp alt. I think I'll be fine in the electircal dept and the steering feels fine. For sure a good mod for anyone wanting a bit more HP with an easy bolt on.

Ok, got my belts figured out and I made a tool to fit into the square notch on my tensioner so I can move it easier. Anyway, seems like a Gatorback 4040315 and a 4040500 seem to work pretty well. And YES, the car does feel a bit peppier. Anyway, that's all. Talk to ya'll later.
