Good call on the exhaust leak. I checked the header and there was a pea sized hole from the top pin that holds the "CARB Legal" label to the pacesetter header. It came out at speed which explains the ping sound I heard followed by it rattling around in my wheel well... I got some quicksteel from adv...

Tell me more of this "inspection cover" :quotes: I don't know what you're talking about, or where it is.

The hole in my bellhousing is right over the numbers to identify the atx.

I think it is something in my atx... I have a hole in my bellhousing from when I hit something in the road late at night.

Any idea how long my trans will last if metal bellhousing shards are rubbing up against the torque converter?

LOUD engine tick

I did a little search today and I'm hoping I don't have a rocker/head problem... This is the second time I have had a LOUD ticking coming from my engine bay that varies at speed and load. For example, it will tick louder while going uphill and not at all when I let off the gas going downhill. At hig...

I found out where the problem was. I took a multimeter and checked that everything was getting power, and it was fine. I did not connect the low beam ground, but I decided to connect that ground even though nothing was going to the corresponding blue wire, and by pushing on it hard with the multimet...

I just got the projectors from modernperformance that have one light for the low beam, and a separate halogen bulb for the high beam. I removed the low beam standard H1 bulb and installed my HIDs. The high beam bulb is a separate bulb... After plugging in the passenger side plug into the stock harne...

I've seen your diagram from other posts. I thought I would only wire it that way if my low beams were high beams, and my high beams were low beams.

I can't get low beams on my driver's side at all now. Can I wire my HIDs without a diode? I'm ok with having less light for now.

Updated with pics!

HID low beams were working on both sides. I cut and spliced the wires going to the 9007 switch and put them in their respective places (positive white, brown neutral ground, and blue low beam) on the driver side headlight. I plugged in the passenger 9007 socket into my stock harness. I have low and ...

Another HID wiring question

Before you flame on I read the stickies. I was running HIDs in the stock reflector housings. Wrong, I know. I actually wanted the glare that they produce since I was doing a lot of back road driving with no street lights, house lights, or other cars on the road. When I hit my brights it would light ...

Can I run without this?

Driving to work this morning I heard a loud grinding sound that I thought was a flat. Got out and the tires were fine. Looked under the hood and saw a piece dangling and rubbing on the engine around the drive belts. Got underneath and the plastic piece that separates the wheel well from the engine b...

Worked on it today: used the smallest flat screwdriver I had to pull the red locking tab down. It was released, but something was holding it back. You have to press on the flat black piece between the two red tabs (in the locked position), an pull back on the electrical connector. It makes a popping...

One more thing: since I'm going at it from below do I need to move the red locking tab down toward the ground, or do I need to move it up toward the starter? I'm hoping it's not the latter. I'll need needle nose pliers and female forearms to get to it...

That's awesome! Thanks for the pic. I still haven't done it, because I only have the ticking/knocking problem above 3500 rpms, and my commute to work is 45-55mph. I just accelerate slowly.

I'll get it this weekend.

I was thinking about taking the starter off completely so I could get to it. I spent a few hours after work getting at it from underneath. Jacked up the car and everything. I could only get to the lower tab. The upper tab is a fraction of an inch from the bottom of the starter. To top it off, my tin...

Noobish sensor question

I got the p0325 code for the knock sensor, but I'm having one hell of a time getting to it! I used my elfish hands to get in between the starter and got the bolt for the knock sensor, but now I can't get the electrical connector off. I know it doesn't twist off because I have a 2003 neon. Do I need ...

I have an 03 which uses the same transmission. When left in any forward moving position, it will not shift at redline. It always shifts 500 rpms shy of the redline. In 1 it is in maximum acceleration mode (as you stated), and will leave your transmission in the lowest gear possible. 3 is weird. If l...

Shared parts for swap

I've been away for a while, but I'm in the market for a 2.4 srt turbo swap. If you're new to the forum, let me tell you that I was screwed over during a rear disc brake swap. I got wrecked brakes with cut lines. I mention that because I want to swap and use as much of the original equipment that I a...

that makes sense--you got a random differently cut key programmed to a different neon and you took it to the dealer for them to program the junk key to your skim. Try getting a blank grey key off ebay and taking your key to a professional key copying store and have them do it there. Adding the key f...

have them take it a part, ship it to you, reassemble it as a "kit" car and bam you're good. it's how they get the skylines over here. this is also completely off topic, but VW wheels are extremely heavy stock wheels. I remember reading somewhere that they are the heaviest... My car is slow enough with 15" wheels. I wouldn't even put them on my SRT-4 if I had one!
