The napa brand mount is good quality as well, got around 30k on mine so far with no trouble. It seems they used two styles of center mount, one regular and one filled with viscous fluid. From my experience, the viscous fluid units seem to last much longer. I have had no issues with my '01's mount. a...

The spectra was actually the one I was looking at, probably gonna go with that one. I notice some are listed as w/o AC and w/ HD cooling, not sure what that means. Some are listed as auto specific, while some are listed as working for both. I realize the auto ones have the built in cooler, but they ...

Radiator
Got into a little accident and the radiator has a leak, so it needs to be replaced. Figured I would check to see if there is a particular brand I should look for, or if there are ones I should avoid. They all seem to be around $100 for a manual trans model. Rather go with a new one instead of a junk...

But it makes sense !! I wonder how many other folks are having this same issue and don't know about it ?? - Nick Probably quite a ...

Isn't there a vent on the top that will puke out fluid if you overfill the trans? Hopefully it's not the rear main seal, but I think the clutch would be slipping if that was the case. If you over fill it will leak out the fill hole which is lower than the top of the tranny. Unless you're filling it...

Is there any way to make your front tires hook better? like a strut brace? more or less camber? Idk somthing for the 0-60 times Good performance tires would be the first thing, but we all know that. You can lower the tire pressure to get a better contact patch. The camber should be set at 0 to get ...

Not that it really matters, but using my OBD2 scanner and the Torque app, I read a dismal 18 something second quarter mile. Then again, I know my clutch has 160k miles on it. Yeah, I'd bet the clutch is a big reason for that, especially with that many miles. I didn't realize how much our stock clut...

Title of your thread wasn't clear to me ... I've looked into replacements for my SRT-4 ... tried Ford Focus ST, Subaru WRX, and Mazdaspeed3. Don't like the looks of the Ford, so my next "Pocket Rocket" will be Japanese !! Subaru WRX with AWD would be perfect, but Mazdaspeed3 is less expensive. I wa...

From what I've read, chrysler and bmw had a joint venture with the 1.6. Chrysler designed it for bmw to use in the mini, and they got to use it on export neon/pt cruisers. They said the design is inspired by our 2.0 sohc motor, just smaller. BMW used a different 1.6 engine from 2007-2013 from a new ...

I ran into the same problem, the rod is like 1/2" too short to get the pulley all the way off. You just need to stick something down into the rod hole to get that extra length. I used a little hex bit from a universal screwdriver. You could even put sand or dirt in there, just need that little extra...

I know this hasnt been mentioned, but I also own a 2009 Mini Cooper S....you may want to test drive one of those. Mini dealers have no qualms about it usually. And of course the chrysler pulley remover, but I assume you knew that. The how-to's and FSM cover it all pretty well, the forums covered every other problem I ran into. It's just getting that bracket plate off that sucks, I didn't like jacking the engine up that high. Remember to drain the coolant a...

How low is it idling? I think mine got bad below 700 rpms, it's been a while so I don't remember exactly. Last resort you can always drill a 1/8" hole in the throttle plate. It was recommended by Ed Peters who was in charge of the neon during production. I did it and got the idle up enough to elimin...
