My XS 205/50/15 lasted about 10,000 miles with agressive city driving and some autocrossing. The more they wear, the noisy they get, almost to the point you think a wheel bearing is going bad. But they do stick almost as good as my VictoRacers when autocrossing! Never been on a street tire that good...

overheating

Neons cooling systems are notoriously hard to purge of air when you change the coolant. You think you are full of fresh coolant, and there can be an air pocket trapped somewhere or in the block. This prevents the coolant from circulating properly, and you can get a localized hot spot where the air p...

I bought new gaskets from the Dodge Dealer and put them on the tail lights with black silicone gasket sealer. I think that solved the problem, but I haven't really soaked it with a hose to see if water is getting in. The car has been parked in a garage since I changed the gaskets.

I did push and hold the trip odometer reset button and turn the key to RUN (one click before cranking the engine) and the gauges went into diagnostics. The dash gauge lights came on, all the needles including the tach swung around and then stopped after a few seconds. The tach swung counterclockwise...

tach doesn't work - anyone know why? SOLVED

I have a 2002 ACR, stock. I started the car today and noticed my tachometer is totally dead and motionless. It is resting about the 7 o'clock position against the RIGHT side of the odometer reset button, as if it came around to about 11,000 rpm and got stuck. I would assume that if it died that it w...

I hope someone is still looking at this because I get the same problem sitting still! I bought a nice 2002 Neon, parked it in my driveway pointing slightly uphill, and it sat there for about a month waiting up some screwed up title stuff. Anyway, after one rain storm, one car wash and several cool d...

I considered that, and I run 205/50/15 on my G stock autocross car. But I want as tall as I can to bring the highway revs down and help my fuel mileage on the daily driving tire

205/60/15 on stock 2002 ACR?

Would there be any rubbing with a 205/60/15 summer performance tire on a stock 2002 ACR Neon?

just make sure the tapered conical angle on the base of the lugs seats perfectly into the seat at the bottom of the wheel stud hole. Not all lugs and wheels are the same, and if the lug/wheel faces don't mate up perfectly, they will work lose.

high altitude Neon

I have a 2002 ACR (stock) which was originally delivered and sold in Colorado at 6200 feet. I bought the car and brought it back east to an elevation of 800 feet. I always understood that the high elevation cars were programmed different at the factory for air/fuel or maybe timing. Do I need to have...

2001 ACR and R/T how to tell from VIN

Well, the sixth digit being a special car doesn’t seem to work: After reviewing several 2001-2002 ACR and R/T VINs, this is what I have come up with Digit 1st– 1 = US origin 2nd - B = Dodge 3rd – 3= passenger car 4th – E =dual front airbags (more on this below) 5th – S = US sold 6th – 4= 2001 ACR an...

Thanks for all the replies. I think I have a good handle on most of the visual indicators, including looking for the adjustable struts underneath. But if you only have a VIN from a 2001 Neon, and haven't seen the car, is there a way to tell the R/T. Why i asked it that way is because some people hav...

How to tell 2001 R/T from ACR with VIN

For 2001 year only, when I run a R/T or ACR VIN thru the Neons.org VIN decoder, it just says "you have an R/T or ACR". It doesn't say which one. When I run the VIN thru carfax, it always says 2001R/T no matter if it is an R/T or ACR. I have run several known of both. So my question is, if you only h...
