Ok. Swapped the plastic connector for the MFS. Everything works. Well. That worked before. Seems I'm not getting voltage off the MFS for the foglight setting. Bummer. I'll dig further into tomorrow. When did speaker connections for the dash speakers change? I don't recall what year car I snagged the...

Today my daughter and I changed the intake manifold in her Patriot. What a pain in the butt! Tomorrow we change filter and transfer fluid in it. Ought to be easier. I hope to get a chance to wire my cruise control as well. We'll see.

I have a cheap obd2 dangle that works with Torque. Took some playing with other free apps before I settled on Torque and paid for it. Works well in my 2002 Supercrew. And my 03 Neon. My daughter's 08 Patriot though won't let me clear codes. Interesting. But I have used it extensively with my Neon an...

The other day on the way home, I heard a brake grinding. NOT what you want to hear in the mountains. Luckily, with a stick shift, I can modify my driving to limit braking and slowed down accordingly. I had 30 miles to go... http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/ss253/neonrog/2003%20Neon/Brakes%20July%2...

My work week is 4 days a week. My commute is 100 miles round trip. I do frequently use my vanpool though. Every Friday revolves around doctor appointments and other things in town, about 40 miles each way. When I bought the Neon, my commute was 140 miles a day 5 days a week. In the first three month...

I just LOVE the reaction I still get with the big lights and pushbar. Questions include, "I didn't know cops used Neons?" Are they bright? Do you use them for idiot drivers? A guy stumbled into the curb crossing the street, his eyes were not where he was walking. Other cars speed up or slow down to ...

Ordered military style battery terminals for my Neon. And ordered some 2 gauge cables. Giving a ton of thought towards a separate power distribution block for my lights and such. Had a failure of the TPS before I could swap it out. Swapped it earlier today, swapped in the original style lights, with...

Intake runner adjusting

My daughter's 08 Patriot is showing a code for the intake runner actuator. Whether the flapper is stuck or the actuator is, I'll find out tomorrow. Which leads me to a question I want to pose, outside of my own Neon thread. It is a purely speculative question, just "bench racing"... Does the 2003 NG...

Ah, thanks for the warning. Unaware of the TB being plastic. So yes, I need to clean the IAC passages. My understanding of the TPS in this instance would be telling the PCM the throttle is closed. Unless, the throttle plate is dirty as well. Which is why I was leaning more towards the IAC. I general...

@MichNeon, check my thinking here brother. TPS is not going to affect idle speed, so my surging at idle is more likely a dirty idle air circuit/control motor. I need to just pull the throttle body and lean it of 11 years and 180,000 miles of "experience"... Put another 120 miles on yesterday without...

Regardless, I'm tearing through the partial harness I snagged. Pulling the wiring bits I think I need. I'm not real sure I want to completely tear my dash out to get most of what I want. Upside, I can at least run what wiring I can from the switches and cluster to the fuseblock. But tearing the dash...

I was beginning to wonder why nobody uses Fidonet anymore... But yes, convenience and "New" win out. Forums replaced BBS's and there will always be a "better" way just around the corner.
