He is not running a UDP. He is getting the random misfire code with the oem damper. There is the chance if the damper isn't bad that the crank may just be weak, and is oscillating more than it should. If the tone wheel is shaking back and forth, the crank sensor will get a bad reading, thinking it ...

Just to clarify, I am talking about a completely stock 02 ACR. No mods, no turbo and actually no knocking. The problem is just the flickering CEL when I am racing and winding the motor in the range of 5- 6000 rpm. It really never drops below 4k during the race and as far as I know it isn't actually...

Okay, so does anyone know anything about a bulletin from Chrysler back in the day on this issue? My connection at the local dealer tells me there was a problem with the crank sensors back in 02 and the fix is to update to a later sensor which requires a different connector for which there is a kit....

But that is not saying it is bad, just a possibility. You would know when it fails completely.

The disadvantage of an '01 pcm, with an '02 cam, is he will lose power too. (The '02 made the same HP with the smaller cam)* Since it isn't a UDP issue, there is something else going on. It could be a coil heat soaking, or other ign related. Possible injector problem too. Check the damper for a fai...

Re: Flickering CEL - misfire

I would like to continue this discussion because this flickering cell/ cylinder misfire condition is driving me crazy. I have an 02 ACR (built 9/01) that I SCCA club race and I am getting this condition at revs above 4500. If I clear the codes before I go out on track the engine runs and revs fine....

While you can get to and remove the switch, Chrysler does not sell the switch seperately, only with the airbag. Time to hit up them junkyards. Thanks, I think I'll just use the one off the 2000 airbag module I already have. The connector is different between the 2000 and 2002 so I guess I'll just s...

Anybody know if there is something different about the switch in 2002? My local dealer says it isn't servicable seperately from the bag. Mine is doing the same thing, sounding the horn randomly. Just want to replace the switch and not the whole bag. I opened up one I have off a 2000 and the switch i...

couldn't you just drill a hole through the shaft of the SRT STS for the roll pin, then put the spring over it and use the stock shift knob? That isn't a bad idea!!! I have a spare SRT STS I could modify for this purpose. You are correct in identifying this as the only real difference between the tw...

before the srt4 came out ('02 and earlier) the mopar short throw was made to use the stock knob/spring set up of the r/t (or base model, obviously) like the one on your acr. i'm not sure if they make that style anymore though. if you can find one i'm sure it'll be overpriced. i'd just get the maddo...

Wow...$220.00 more for the stock knob to fit? I know you are trying to keep a stock apearance, but damn! This is for a SCCA Club Racing car running in Showroom Stock C. 4668261AC is the only oem shifter listed for non SRT. Aftermarket would be the only option that would be there. And whether or not there is one that fits the oem knob (other than Maddog), you will have to wait for someone else to chime in. I wonder if that is the same unit used for the 1GN cars? Wh...

Part Number Request: Neon only STS (Not SRT version)

Want to Buy - I am looking for the part number for the Neon only STS. I don't want the version for the SRT-4 but the one that works with the stock Neon shift knob. I know it exists because I already have one in my 02 ACR. Looking to locate another one and a part # would be very helpful.

All they need to do is to take the rear lines from the SRT kit (#694310) and the front lines from the 00-05 Disc/Drum kit (#694320). I suggeste...
