you could try stuffing a magnaflow turbo muffler under it, there are several sizes. I don't have the srt rear section but I did have a magnaflow muffler meant for a Camaro with dual outlets put in the stock location. Love the sound of magnaflow! not too loud but gets louder when ya get on it. GL wit...

Thanks guys for the input. He told me the soft line would need to be replaced as well. I have no experience with brake issues and wanted input from those that do. Thanks again Merry Christmas to all at 2gn.

2000 ES front bake calipers

The guy at the brake shop is telling me I need a right front caliper. I see no evidence of it but he is the "Professional". The brakes pads are wearing even, the rotor is not warped and shows no evidence of bluing. The steering does not pull under braking and there is no evidence of leakage. Is ther...

I agree with Bill. my 2000 ES MTX did this when the torque struts went. I thought the trans was toast, but I lucked out. The struts were much less expensive. yippeee

I hate to be cliché but try replacing the gas cap. If that doesn't fix it there is a how to on here to further address that problem. Try the search button. Most times it seems the O ping on the cap shrinks or is slightly torn and leaks, also inspect the fuel filler neck for rust and pin holes.

The 2gn Neons do sit high in the back. Doubtful it has anything to do with the alignment. But if you haven't done it yet, add a 4 wheel alignment to your to do list. While they are in there have them check the steering rack for play, and the front lower control arm bushings along with the ball joints.

I get this code sometimes on my 2000 ES< mostly when the tank is 1/4 full or less. There was a how to somewhere on here about how to fix it. You need a hose that goes from the ldp to the tank to fix it iirc. the hose is obsolete and you can get a pt cruiser pvc hose as a replacement, again if I can ...

sounds like a plan to me. I missed the rebuild when I read your post before. 20k on the build speaks for the quality of the build as long as there are no unusual noises or smoke. Good Luck with the car when you snag it.

a/c line

The line mechanically should be no big deal to change, just be sure to install new O rings when it's changed out. This is not really a job for the average home mechanic. Once the system has been open to the air, a vacuum needs to be pulled on the system before new R-134a is put in. The air in the sy...

SRT

Just my 2 cents. Personally I would buy it. Not sure of the cost to rebuild the tranny, but again, to ME it would be worth it. There is an SRT near me that seems a better deal tho. It has only 121,000miles. Also has cosmetic problems, needs both front fenders. The car is red and looks well maintaine...

Thanks for the replies. I will check out rock auto for the lca's. Retarded auto parts here wants $79 each for the MOOG. Thanks for the input. I suspected this all along. The neon has almost 138,000 miles on it and not sure if it had control arms in the past. The time has come for changing the lower control arms on the Neon. The rear bushings are totally shot. My question is, which control arms should I use. The engine has 137,000 on it with a new head, new plugs and wires. There is no discernible misfire except under load at part throttle. Not trying to bad mouth any product but I tried the Lucas oil stabilizer and soon after my cam was scored.
