So, back to the topic, I have a 2003 R/T with about 180K miles on it. I swapped out the trans for a SXT trans just for gas mileage. My job takes me several hundred miles a day at times, so this was important to me. I've lowered the car, not as much for looks as for improved gas mileage and keep my t...

Sitting here thinking I have too many cars. Seven at last count. Need to be up at 3:30 and that's only 6 hours away. My 03 R/T is clean and sounds good lately, need to finish up the stainless camaro muffler retrofit job to fit the SRT4 rear bumper on the car. Clamped temporarily now with band clamps...

I put the stock airbox back on. I was thinking a nice little hood scoop would help the motor/turbo alot. Giving the air inlet some cool air and cooling the turbo a bit. Something like this... http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/611/2341/26526170049_large.jpg Some 16*8 white Rota Slipstream...

Welcome back to Neons. The R/T is a nice choice, between your plain Jane Plymouth and an SRT4. They have a nice rev range and decent pull for a NA.
Good luck with your new toy!

Re: New to everything Neon

So just figured I'd join here to educate myself on this a little bit while I enjoy some good MPG for the first time ever lol Even with high mileage on the clock, Neon's are great fun to drive. They also get great gas mileage, especially with a manual trans. I gave one to a buddy with 268K miles on ...

You guys ever look at a classic 1968 Olds 442 with dual snorkel cold air? An awful lot like what you just made with flex line and ducting. And duct tape? Not rice but Nascar!

I am more or less thinking of somehow blending an SRT-4 bumper with some Chrysler grill.... may have to ask R34 to do some photo shop work once I find the right combo. I actually like these but would somehow incorporate them into the lower half o...

Deer are funny. My younger brother was just sitting at a light when a deer crossed the road diagonally and galloped directly over his car, front left to right rear, caved in the roof and front fender, hood and hatch in his old Honda. Totaled it and he never moved!

The worst part of the car was now the rear bumper. Stock 03 R/T bumper with a couple of dents in the bumper "boobies" and a long crack in the shelf at the trunk lid. I was going to heat and reshape it then weld in the crack but I kept my eye out for a good SRT4 bumper instead. I finally found one a ...
