2004 MTX swap to 3 speed automatic

So, i know this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to most, but I am in a position where I need to make the change to an automatic transmission vehicle. Currently I have a 2004 sxt 5 speed. Instead of getting rid of the car, I want to swap to an auto trans. I am thinking if I went with an earlier 31t...

MyNeonSaysHi - oh, I just meant "once" as in I installed a 95 neon manual rack in a 2g. I was just posting a link to some obstacles that I came across and how I adressed them, in case you or anyone else was curious. And the recall part # was the same updated 95 neon manual steering coupler, just wit...

thanks for the input BTW, I did find A headgasket with 90mm bore, but it is very expensive! http://www.raceeng.com/p-8808-phuzion-gskt420a-900mm051-ea.aspx to add a little more to my specific build. I already have the 10.5 drop in .040 over JE pistons. Instead of selling them to purchase 12.5 piston...

looking for a particular headgasket

Does anyone know where I can find a headgasket that is specifically made for a .040 over bored block?

Also, if there are any recommendations as far as using a thinner headgasket to raise compression further (along with higher compression pistons, milling the head etc).

I did this once...... http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f213/manual-steering-rack-159255/#post5654621 use the steering coupler for the RECALL that 95 neons had with manual steering, if possible. wish I had the part number...but I no longer have access to dealer connect  I don't know if the 95 ne...

welcome! Another $400 car, sweet! I just scored an 02 ACR with 192,000 for the same nut. Although when you factor in the hundo i spent for the trailer ride home, the title transfer/tax....and the impending clutch repair that was found to be the problem for it not moving???? I guess it ain't no $400 ...

wonder if it would work......

I was just thinking about the ghetto blaster intake manifolds that can be made relatively easily and inexpensive, but I wonder if it could be taken a step further to create what might be dubbed a "ghetto blaster" ITB setup? Obviously the only way to know is to try? And I would guess at some point ma...

dblsg - I refering more to an air/water intercooler? I agree that you can't cool intake air any cooler than ambient air unless maybe you were using an ice water tank to feed the water to air intercooler. Probably not very practical for a potential slight hp increase however...if it even worked. occa...

intestesting thought.... might actually work on a track car that runs a small/ high flowing water to air intercooler like aceborn mentioned? If you had ice cold water pumping through the intercooler it may produce a noticeable temp drop during brief 1/4 mile runs. Would it be enough to offset the li...

The comp 400 actually sounds like the best "street" cam especially for a NGC car. I would love to try it out one day, great review! I just got the answer to one of my questions also ( thanks ZeroChad and Jerome) in regards to the valve float with mag springs.

7654800neon - trying to launch a turbo car can be no fun. I used to run 12.50's at 116 mph in my old SRT one run, and mid 13's the next. It was either come out of the hole like a limp dick, or spin the crap out of the tires 90% of the time (and that was on drag radials). Looking back, I would agree ...

input on big SOHC cam with magnum springs

From what I have read, the general consensus is maybe a crane 14 or comp 400 cam is highest recommended cam with mag springs?

Has anyone actually ran a 05 or 07 big cam or simliar on these springs? If so, was there any actual problems like excessive float or broken springs etc?

oh yeah, I would recommend the 400 cam for your setup also. It is claimed to be specifically made for the mag head, and there is less overlap and duration than the 14 cam if I remember correctly. I was going to go with the comp 400 cam, but since there is/was a chance I would put nitrous on the car ...

Just bought an 2002 neon....that happened to be an ACR!

So, a couple weeks ago I was walking through the shop at my work when a tech that likes to bust my balls about my neon fetish says "hey I found a car for you". JeffB#2 , thanks for all the valuable info. Just curious how much did you chop off the headbolts to mate the sohc head to 2.4 block? Or did you use different bolts....? Compression question WITH JE PISTONS 10.5

ok, I need some help with this one. JE pistons are claimed 10.5 that i purchased.....but is that calculated with the SOHC OR DOHC head? Since I hear the combustion chamber is 52cc in the DOHC and 48? in the SOHC?. I am plugging in numbers to find my static (and dynamic compression) ratio into variou...
