I think I did like 4 coats on mine...I didnt want them completely black, just a nice smoked look, so right now they are perfect on mine (just need a better clearcoat).

I 2nd the lower first before you get rims thing. Looks goofy w/ out a drop beforehand. I rolled around like that for a while plus a drop is cheaper
