thank you-that makes sense...maybe just wait it out until I find a swap set from a totaled car or something.

will check the pads for weird ware next time I have the wheels off

so I changed the struts and springs (got a good deal on new and lowered ones)..thought maybe the clunk was gone because for a whole day after that-nothing. Then 2 days later its back, not as consistent (yet) but it does clunk. so its not anything to do with the struts, bolts for struts, etc.... do t...

Thank you all...the springs/struts got rid of a stupid clunk I couldn't track down too so better ride, looks better and one less issue...

that CAI photo was mid-install so I hadn't gotten the washer and air hole plugged yet ...good catch though!

So I re-sealed all along that lower bead as far towards the driver's side as I could get and I added a raised edge made of sealant to the little piece of sheet metal that drops down under the passengers side to try to keep it from sloshing around...then I used the same tech as mk1 VWs...I took a sha...

I got a set of jetta GLi wheel as well, 2000-with the 205/55-16...and clearance is very tight...but no rubbing here either...will have to roll the fender lips when I get the lower springs on it for sure!

I have heard that the SRT struts will hold up to lowering springs much better because they are made to work with a higher rate spring, the downside being that the perches are 10mm higher so you would loose 10mm of the lowering the springs have. So if you can find factory new/used SRT struts in good ...

YES!!!! 2000 jetta vr6 wheels...$100 w 3 good tires....and 205/55-16 is a very tight fit but the car rides much better..and looks great too!

Wires are OBX, they are descent quality and between that and the coil they did make some difference-they were like $30 w shipping from ebay

I have been looking at the exhaust on my neon and it seems a pretty good design, the benefits of a larger pipe size might add some flow but might hurt torque so I got some questions from people that have hands on knowledge... 1) If I just add a magnaflow muffler (I like the sound) to my stock exhaus...

yup-typed it wrong...bigger rear is more oversteer which is what I meant to say...car does tend to understeer as it is so I need to do some tuning...bigger rear sway w poly bushings should help a bit I am thinking
