So for shits and giggles, I got a JY TCM for $25 just to see if it'd do anything. Nope. I pulled the dipstick and it was smoking. I really haven't seen much on here about a 41te to 31th swap and that's something I'm pondering. I like the 31th because it's stronger and simpler. Only major problem I f...

Mad Max II Rejuvenation
So I got a 2002 base model last week that has tranny issues. Seeing as tax season is upon us, I'm going to do a few other things. Plans are CAI, Header and cat delete, paint job, redo the interior, and an exhaust cutout. I'm going with looks and gas mileage with this car. My last 2gn got 30-32 MPG c...

I'd assume replacing them would be a good place to start... return them if it doesn't correct your issue. Somewhat off topic but what app are you using that shows p700 codes? I'm using Torque, it's awesome. I have to hold the brake and gas to get it to engage but when it's in gear it's alright unti...

Dead Tranny?
So I picked up an '02 ATX today and they said it needs a new tranny. There's no metal or coolant in the tranny fluid and no tranny fluid in the coolant. I pulled the codes and I'm thinking the TCM is shot or possibly a connection issue. http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n604/Vince_Priola/Mobile%20...

Crane 12 advertises 12-14 hp gain. Magnum head is a gain. Ported and polished is a gain. All these gains better equal AT LEAST 20 WHP!!!! Good luck with that. A 12 isn't much bigger than an '01 Magnum cam. You might see 8 to 10 WHP out of all that. And I'm being damn optimistic. Laughing No way. No...

How To: Quick Disconnect Battery Cable
I got tired of replacing battery terminals because of having to disconnect the battery to change sensors or pretty much anything else electrical, so I got creative and this is what I came up with. Only cost about $15 but it saves a lot of time. Supplies: I didn't have any heat wrap so I just used el...

Nitrous setup
I'm planning on rebuilding the engine on Mad Max come tax season and the wife told me to start getting parts here and there because she doesn't want to know the actual cost lol. I want to spray it every now and then but want to be safe about it. I'm planning on getting a wet kit, purge, window switc...

Caravan shocks/struts on a 2gn?
Odd question, I know but I'm curious. I'm going to need new shocks/struts soon and a big part of the reason is the parking lot at work. It's a field. I want to use the shocks/struts from a caravan or maybe a PT if it'll give me a little more ride height. Plus I like to play around on dirt roads when...

The gas itself doesn't, the tune/engine is what dictates the octane requirements. The higher the octane the more it decreases the chance of detonation. That's why it's needed for forced induction, high compression, N2O, and performance engines. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-efficiency/fuel-cons...

Higher octane fuel doesn't give you HP. Higher octane fuel is for reducing detonation in high comp, boosted, and N2O engines. Using the right fuel for your engine will give you the most power. I could spend the extra money on 93 octane for my car which is stock and it won't run as well as when I put...
