Re: 2003 SRT DD
Keep your head up! You don't find neons, never mind srt4s, in this good of shape anymore. IMO, its worth the headache knowing it is in great shape. Did you check your intermediate shaft's bearing while you were doing the axles? Mind torn from the mount causing it to wiggle. That doesn't solve the dr...

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t
They do an emissions check here yearly but Im not entirely sure if that is a just a visual/code check. I passed with a stage 2 ecu and all the other mods. As long as you don't have a check engine light, I doubt they would know about the stage upgrades.

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t
From what I read in your project log, you are probably fine but each state has their own rules. I also failed because my car didn't have a muffler. Well, they all don't so...I ended up bringing it to another shop. The car has a 3" exhaust all the way back and it is sort of loud but the new mustangs ...

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t
Figured I should post some updates to the few people who still visit. I parked the ST for the winter and am now driving my SRT4. It had some rust repaired (see pics) and I changed the clutch, pivot fork, timing belt, front brake calipers, rear brakes/wheel bearings, all brake lines, and am in the mi...

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t
Nope, just rocked it as is. There is a difference but the car still stopped fine. I guess I just got used to it. There is a guy on the .org selling hawk pads too for the upgrade. Last I knew, he still had some. Another bit, I am not too sure there was any benefit of having the bigger brakes, only to...

Re: Help me to pick a new car
What about a GTI? You can have those in autos. The back seat is roomy and there is hatch space. When I looked at one, they were having a kickass deal on a brand new one. I was really close to buying it but for a little less money, I bought a fully loaded used ST.

Re: OMG EPIC THREAD
Little late to the show (snow?)...but a couple of weeks ago we had back to back noreasters. The first storm dumped a little more than a foot of HEAVY wet snow. A week later, we got 26" of lighter snow. The pile of snow on the SRT was taller than me. The nyg was cleaned off after the first storm and ...

Re: Moving on...upgrade?
Look into the elantra, you will be surprised and it is surprisingly big. Plus, 6 speed, 200hp and the sounds haha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqpkxisIs7Y NYG is in pretty good shape for the year. Has a little rust on the passenger side rear wheel well but easily fixable to the right person. Wei...

Dealer I bought this at was great. I told them I wanted to think about it and they didn't pressure me at all. I wasn't quite sure what to do.

Moving on...upgrade?
So my neon started acting up this winter due to this extreme cold we had a month back. The power steering line failed and was pissing oil everywhere. Due to the corrosion, I didn't think I would be able to fix it (I did). So I started looking around for a new whip. With all the rust, no clear coat, ...

I'm working on plans to get there. Even if it is only for one day. I haven't been for years. Side note: PA ACR, did I buy this off of you around 10 years or so ago? It is a dirty Mopar muffler. I remember buying it off an older gentleman who lived in PA. This had to have been around 2005. http://i43...

My first thought is a sticking IAC however I am not sure if that would make the coolant light flash. Looking at the link below may help you diagnose it better though or at least give you something to read before someone else chimes in. http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=67323&sid=9639a0610fa3d0a93...

From what I understand, you can use the 1st gen springs but you still need to use the 2gn struts because the 2gn knuckle is different than the 1st gen. You could always try to find some srt4 lowering springs as well. From my experience, lowering springs do not deliver the best (read smoothest) ride....

Well, I believe the problem has been solved. The transmission mount (which I replaced with anchor brand or similar) wasn't made correctly. The mount has/had a slight bend in it where it would rub against the frame causing this vibration when the engine moves toward the driver side (hard right turns)...

Great customer service and shipping was quick..plus they have damn near anything you'd ever need. Agreed. I bought my kit on Black Friday this year, and it was here quickly and well packaged. I am currently working on the retrofit. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e399/ducktapetg/20150107_142159_z...

Steering wheel vibration while turning sharp right 2001 R/T
Problem: Vibration in steering wheel when taking sharp right turn (and only right turn). Feels as if something is rubbing. Goes away when straightened out and it also (seems to be) RPM related. If I take same right turn in neutral, the vibration doesn't seem to be there. Also, under heavy accelerati...

Well, I jacked up the car to put the exhaust on and, after seeing I needed to cut stuff, I stopped. That is going to be a spring project. I decided to put the headlight gaskets on and the trunk carpet in. The real last thing I need to do is the heater core. (for future reference https://neons.org/vi...
