Coilovers eliminate the rubbing issue SRT/2nd gens have with larger wheels/tires. No spring perch to rub against, so the only issue you'd have would be rubbing on the fender. You should be fine

Any reason you'd want to use the 1st gen over the 2nd gen? i assume you have a 1st gen one and you need to replace the one on the 2nd gen

The MFS connectors in these cars are crap. the melting is a common issue, especially if running higher wattage bulbs in both the headlights and fogs. This..this solved all my issues. I didn't make a flange for my TB to mount to tho, it's kinda just held in place by the exhaust tubing slip fitting i made into the GB and the ass end of the TB..well that and a exhaust clamp. Works for me tho

Well, i just unhooked mine and ran it underneath the strut brace and it fixed my issue. Did you check the tubes to see if there were any kinks? I'm out of ideas.
