put the sleeve side of the outer tie rod over the ball and jam it up there with a tow strap or a vice grip c clamp or some sort of locking device that will hold the tie rod over the ball stud and not let it turn, then pop the 21mm nut on the sleeve loose so you can unscrew the tie rod. It "should" b...

if that mechanic gave you a life expectancy on the timing belt, i would never go to him again. there is absolutely NO way to determine how much life is left ona timing belt. Well, thats not entirely true, when it breaks you can check the odometer and see how much life it took, but it is absolutely i...

Ever seen the rotors turn blue/green to get to the temps you're talking about? It takes some serious abuse to do that. Man I could bring up all kinds of counter points here, but I think I'm just gonna quit now and save my sanity. yeah, numerous times. I come from colorado. You know how many idiots ...

if you rapidly heat and cool metal, forged, cast, stamped, whatever, it deforms. if you add pressure to a small percentage of the surface of that metal, it is going to sag at that point. if you get cast iron to 600-900 degrees, it is malleable and will flex and deform. take a look in a spec book. la...

WHOA. saying increased surface area has zero effect on brakeing power is...........uninformed. Granted the amount of material removed for slotted/drilled is going to have a negligible effect on braking, but it is still an effect. I speak from first hand experience as i have run a brake shop where we...

flooring the gas pedal does nothing to affect a compression test. as long as the rockers are in there is air getting into the cylinders. 12:1 will detonate like a bitch on the oxygenated fuel in winter months. 11:1 would be safe but ignition would be a good idea to pull timing when its cold or the s...

slotted and drilled are a double edged sword. They run cooler, but they tend to crack aroudn the holes, and the slots will eat up pads quite a bit faster. You also loose surface area which is what actually stops you. I know a bunch of pro4/hot rod cars run OEM brakes, and their stopping from 150+ al...

OEM if you want quiet braking. If you can get yoru hand on centric 104.06420 , get em, other than those, go OEM. If you want something more aggressive, its going to make noise, but hawks are probably the best way to go imo. True ceramic pads are alot more than you want to spend, trust me. You can ge...

fwiw i use sockets on oil changes when i physically can not get a wrench on it, like toyotas when your going through the hole in the skidplate etc. a locking wrench vice grip, part number 7LW, will pop it off no problem. You can get a new drainplug at any parts store that has a dorman section, even ...

listening to that video sounds like the centering plate is loose on the back of the clutch which is no big deal, but loud and annoying as hell. Mine makes noises similar to that at idle out of the TO bearing but not that loud. colder it gets the worse it gets. without seeing it i cant say for sure o...
