Car threw a P0340. Searched around and it seems to be fairly common. Bought a replacement cam position sensor and I'll install it later today. White neon is all cleaned up, had to remove the lights and pull everything apart to clean everything. Runs good, I've been driving it for the last month or s...

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8636/16082656459_fa835f18e7_c.jpg ITS ALIIIIIVE!!!! Looks like I dredged it out of a swamp. (Not quite so severe, but it's filthy and all the orifices are growing moss and algae.) Passed emissions without a problem, got it rego'd today. Just needs some TLC and it'll b...

So, I'm about 95% of the way to completion on this thing. I have 2 issues that are yet to be completed: Fans and Hood. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5580/14100154218_e663284689_b.jpg The car is running, and runs smooth as eggs. But the fans don't kick on, after idling for about 45 minutes while I w...

Skipped a day but I was back at it today. Today the goal was to fix the battery wires (At the scene of the accident the Fire Department cut the wires... in two places.) So the wires were just kind of haphazardly spliced together by me a while ago so I could get the car running, now I needed to fix t...

The problem with Facebook is the lack of specificity. Forums divide the categories up for easy indexing. Also, I agree with, sidepipe, Facebook encourages stupid posts. Besides that, I'm on my this forum on a daily basis on my smartphone. The functionality works perfectly, although linking photos ca...

What he said. I have an old flip-phone without a keyboard, just use it for phone calls. I did send my first text message last month, only took 15 minutes to type two sentences. Never again. :banghead: Gotcha, obviously I didn't read the whole thread, saw the subject, hit most recent post and saw yo...

One of the biggest helps in reducing data used is to make sure your phone is on wi-fi whenever it's available. It is a hassle to set it all up initially, but pays off big time! (I'm with Verizon by the way.) I use my phone constantly, but with my home network saved and on priority, along with the wi...

Before I left last night I clamped up all the areas to be welded, so when I showed up this morning I just had to fire up the welder and start moving! By the way, if you're considering a small MIG welder, this Hobart unit (The 180 model) I was using is inconvenient at best. https://farm6.staticflickr...

Yeah, you just want to buy. Swaps are not the glory that forums make them out to be. It's frustrating, time consuming, and way more expensive than you ever planned. It sucks up your free time, irritates your friends, and makes your family resent you. Believe you me, I used to spend all of my free ti...

I wouldn't really worry about it, dude. Other than the fact that you're pissed that he stole your photos. Does he have your keys? No. Does he have your title? Nope. Does he even know where you live or keep the car? Probably not. One of your Facebook friends probably shared your photos and it got bac...

No, I've noticed it too. I took a long break from the forum as well, over a year, and so part of the inactivity blame rests on my shoulders as well. (Though I'm not really pushing any boundaries with performance or modification myself.) It is kind of discouraging how slow it is getting. I love brows...

Summer BBQ/Hangout
There isn't much going on, I was wondering if there was any interest in meeting up near Portland for a BBQ or just to hang out, or you even grab a wrench and help remove things from my parts car if you get bored. I have a place with a fire pit, lots of parking, and awesome weather out in the coastal...

Back to the 04! Began welding the core support tonight, got a late start so I had to call it on account of total darkness. I got both ends and the center finished and now I just need to go through and weld all the tabs. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2898/14240269082_fce7d8577d_b.jpg My father-in-la...

Another break! Seems like all of my time lately has been tied up just trying to fix one or the other of these cars. But I was able to fix the PR4 today. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2905/14255029803_ff6a54f1d4_b.jpg In January it got rear-ended. I had picked up a used bumper for it in dark blue an...

that is the tcm transmission control module for the automatic only on the 2002 neons beacuse older ones had mechanical transmissions and newer ngc neons have the tcm integrated into the main ecu but the older sbec computers found in the 2002-1996 neons dont have the internal hardware so they had to...

Got a lot done today! Pulled the core supports off of both cars, removed the hoods, replaced a couple of A/C components that got mangled on the 04, pulled the condenser/radiator/fans, threw out the old power steering pump, and murdered a whole lot of wasps. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5530/141784...

It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I managed to get a pretty nice little neon for $300. It's a 2002, don't know about mileage or anything because it has no battery. All the previous owner knows is that he doesn't have a title and that it just quit running one day when his wife was drivin...

It has been awhile, my friends. Almost a year since I've updated this thread. The 02 is going strong, it still has an occasional hiccup (tranny not shifting for a moment or gauges going dark until I unplug the batt for a few minutes). Until last night I hadn't even thought much of the 04, which is s...

Just wanted to update this with new symptoms. I drove the car this afternoon to the store, no problems, after I left the store I shifted into reverse, backed out just fine. I shifted from reverse to drive, and it wouldn't engage. I put it back into park and shifted back to drive. Nothing. Finally af...
