Well.... I got the new belt on, started her up and 10 seconds later the belt was being eaten up. Looks and feels like the part that is supposed to spin on the tensioner is busted.

Thanks all.

I looked this morning and the belt was off. I'm holding it in my hand. It is all intact and looks in good shape. So the question is, I guess? why did it come off? Have been over a lot of puddles and pot holes lately. Just a matter of buying a new belt and putting it on?

Where do I begin and what is the worst that it could be? Also, is it ok to drive as is for a few days until I (or mechanic...

Thank you all for your replies.

I guess what I am getting at;

Is it easier to replace the LCA with one that comes with bushings installed instead of purchasing an LCA and bushings separately and then installing them?

Thank you.

Replacing LCA, have read how-to

Shop has informed me that the passenger side LCA needs to be replaced because the bushings are totally trashed. Reading the how-to, it seems the hardest part is getting the old bushings out and the new bushing in. So I did some searching and came across a LCA with bushings; http://www.discountbodypa...

Is my transmission dying?

85,000 miles. I made an audio recording of the noise. http://tinyurl.com/ot98nzy Mostly happens when cold (after sitting over night). Only happens when opening throttle. Doesn't happen in reverse. Doesn't happen when coasting. Doesn't happen when in neutral and opening throttle. Stops after about 20...

Cheers for that. However my connector is a 22 pin connector. The connector on the schematic appears (to me) to be a 12 pin connector.

Radio connector pin out

Does anyone know the pin out for the stock radio connector? Specifically- positive, negative and fuse? I have a harman kardon drive and play for my iPod (remember those?) and it came with a three lead (black, red, yellow w fuse) plug that needs to be spliced in.

Thank you.

Thank you all very much! Yes, I think I am going to pass on buying back the wreck as I don't have a place to park it, the cost of transporting it and if I did have a place to park it what would I do with it after I get the parts I wanted from it. I think it would be a better idea to source the parts...

I'm still too sad to post pictures of the "imposter". Haha.

Yes, my next posts were going to be about how to retrofit cruise, fog lights and keyless (if at all possible). Didn't know if I should do that here or in another forum.

Thank you.

Found this site after my 2GN was totaled. :(

I had a used 2005 SXT automatic for 6 years. It had fog lights, key-less entry, cc, and rear spoiler. 113K miles and just finished timing belt, water pump, acces. belts, seals, motor mount and transmission cooler (recommended by a mechanic friend of mine). Not 15 minutes after all that was done I wa...
