Re: Never Forget

Ultimately, he is responsible for all of his administration's actions. He is the president and it is his administration. But he never assumes responsibility for anything and blames everybody else even though he is in control and in a position to do the right thing. I am not a fan of political discus...

Thanks- I've never owned a car this long.
It is quite amazing, especially since yours is still in such a great shape. Mine turns 21 this month and I now own it for over 17 years. So it reached drinking age ;-)

I had to do this for a flight that the airline cancelled lately. I requested a refund which was approved but never materialized. After 45 days, I put in a claim with the credit card company. The airline issued the refund that same day. So it seems that the credit card companies can put a reasonable ...

If you are into aviation, the museum here has a lot to see. So much so that you cannot see it all in one day.

And I'm wondering what the "rectangle" on the trunk lid is.
That may just be the reflection of one of the windows of the house it is parked in front of.

did you use any actual clear coat on top of it when you used it..?
Yes, I did use the duplicolor clear coat. And from what Bill is saying that might be part of the problem. Plus, I am no expert at paint thus contributing to the problem ;-)

My experience with Duplicolor has been pretty bad. Gasoline spills take the paint right off and so does bird poop. It just ate through the entire coating down to the base coat :-(

I know what you are talking about. I am fighting off the rust as best as I can on my 1st gen but it is getting harder and harder. Germany does not use as much salt as the Midwest does but there is still enough rain to make rust a big issue.

Yes, it will be a big temperature drop. But it also comes with rain. So that would not be too great for a meet either.

Hey, so even in this cold weather your Neon is Overheating..? That's how I'm understanding it.

No, if it is cold the car is fine. It only overheats with the AC on and 95 plus degrees outside.

Re: Dayton Spring Meet: March 21, 2020

Sorry to hear, Gramps. Hope you are okay. It is weird over here. Classes all went to online only to follow the social distancing mantra. K-12 schools are all closed now. Restaurants are vigorously cleaning everything all the time. So people seem pretty cautious which is good.

Re: thomas_w's log

I wouldn't say its what they do. Is it actually physically boiling, or does the gauge just show it is getting too warm? If it is not showing actual signs of overheating, I would splice a mechanical temp gauge into the hot side heater hose, and verify the temperature. It is what I did on our '96 aft...

Re: thomas_w's log

I have not posted an update in quite a while. Most of the things I fixed were minor. The car runs pretty well. It tends to overheat when it gets really hot. I tried a thorough flush last summer with some chemicals but the end result is the same. I guess it is just what neons do. A couple weeks ago, ...

As long as you can make it, I think we are all okay with a dirty car. The forecast so far says cloudy. We will know more when it gets closer.

I will have to get my exhaust fixed until then. Hope that is an easy fix. I have not looked at it yet really. It does sound like it is coming from underneath the car where I had to get it welded a few years ago. But I will be there one way or the other.
