Re: 2021 Dayton, OH meet?

I have not thought about it much yet. NUmbers are going back up over here but restaurants are still all open and the governor has no plans of putting in any restrictions.

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

I was told six years is when replacement is recommended, even though my old tires had a 45K mileage warranty from Michelin. So it looks like, going forward, I'll be watching age rather than mileage when it comes to buying new tires (guess that I won't have to worry about it again until 2027). Yes, ...

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

The wife's tires are 5 years old now, with ~5000 miles. They'll probably be dry rotting, with less than 10,000 miles. I wouldn't expect the tires on any car with decent power to last the advertised warranty. Even if you never spin them, they are going to wear more under hard acceleration and ...

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

Well, it took 16 years but my OEM headlights finally started to haze over. To be honest, the passenger one is OEM but the driver's side was replaced after the accident. Anyway, Ziebart put a clear bra on the front of my car years ago, including over the headlights so I can't use a kit to remove the...

Ultimately, he is responsible for all of his administration's actions. He is the president and it is his administration. But he never assumes responsibility for anything and blames everybody else even though he is in control and in a position to do the right thing. I am not a fan of political discus...

Thanks- I've never owned a car this long.
It is quite amazing, especially since yours is still in such a great shape. Mine turns 21 this month and I now own it for over 17 years. So it reached drinking age ;-)

Re: Carlisle 2020

I had to do this for a flight that the airline cancelled lately. I requested a refund which was approved but never materialized. After 45 days, I put in a claim with the credit card company. The airline issued the refund that same day. So it seems that the credit card companies can put a reasonable ...

And I'm wondering what the "rectangle" on the trunk lid is.
That may just be the reflection of one of the windows of the house it is parked in front of.

did you use any actual clear coat on top of it when you used it..?
Yes, I did use the duplicolor clear coat. And from what Bill is saying that might be part of the problem. Plus, I am no expert at paint thus contributing to the problem ;-)

My experience with Duplicolor has been pretty bad. Gasoline spills take the paint right off and so does bird poop. It just ate through the entire coating down to the base coat :-(

I know what you are talking about. I am fighting off the rust as best as I can on my 1st gen but it is getting harder and harder. Germany does not use as much salt as the Midwest does but there is still enough rain to make rust a big issue.

Yes, it will be a big temperature drop. But it also comes with rain. So that would not be too great for a meet either.
