Just a final update on the matter for the sake of future searchers: Believe it or not, but Ramroid's solution of clearing the codes did the trick! So far so good. I guess we've found a bug in the PCM! Now just to find out what causes it to crop up, but I'd rather the problem not return again :-) So ...

Difference between brake pad part numbers

Hi,

Does anyone know the difference between front brake pad part numbers:

5014438AA
5014527AA

Are they interchangeable?

Dashboard / Instrument Panel speakers

I'm looking for the correct part number for 2000-2002 3.5" dashboard speakers.

I've found 2 different numbers thus far, I would like to know if they're interchangeable:

Just a little update, I'm still hoping for some "direction." The problem disappeared completely for 3 full days and then came back with a vengeance. This morning, for the first time, even my gas gauge started acting funny with the needle dropping and rising and causing the low fuel chime to sound ev...

So here's another update: P1686 has decided to join the party. All fault lights except for low fuel and check oil now light up. This happens within a few minutes of driving. Upon starting the car, the first light to stay lit is AIRBAG, followed by Check Engine within 30 seconds. This seems to be a g...

Yeah, I actually used my spare key this morning during the commute - no change.

I'll check the battery, it isn't the highest quality in the world and that solved the Mexican guy's problem.

So this morning the gauges started acting funny, coming and going as they please. I did a little more research and found a Mexican forum (and the help of a translation) where they wrote that it was a problem with the battery and had to discharge for 15 minutes to reset the BCM(?) By the way, I'm ass...

codes p1684, p1685, p1687 but car runs fine

Hello all, long time no post (because the car has been fine)! The other day, I was driving on the highway and noticed that the AIR BAG and CHECK ENGINE lights started flickering on and off every so often, with no rhyme or reason as far as I could perceive. Then it completely went away for a few days...

Thanks to the posts in this thread (and especially to Gnuserup who provided some extra advice through PMs), I managed to refurbish my MFS and fix my fog light toggle which would not turn off anymore. I would like to add to the advice in this thread through my own experience in fixing the switch. For...

Well, I finally ended up dragging myself to the dealer. Unfortunately, I don't have any "good news" to share. The part was out of stock. They offered to order it, which would take 2 weeks. They refused to order it and let me see it before purchasing... I think I'm going to just convert to US/domesti...

Hazard / Flasher relay

I just finished refurbishing my MFS because the fog lights were stuck on. To do that, I took the MFS apart and put it back together. Well, I successfully fixed the fogs and they turn off, but now I have a new problem: As soon as I used my blinker, the hazard relay buzzed for a second or two and then...

What would your next answer be if I told you that I knew for a fact that the car was sold with fog lights? Thank you very much for the clarification, now it's all clear to me! I did read your post but I wasn't sure I had understood... So here's a follow-up: I have no fuse in the slot for fuse 19 and there are no contacts in the slot to even insert a fuse! I'm hoping that that's just a quirk with export N...

Let me make sure I got that: the indicator and lights are independent of one another? I should take a look at pin 19? My plug showed signs of heat damage, but it wasn't really melted down or anything. I was able to unplug the old switch without any major issues. What's the best way to test if it's t...

That's kind of what I'm trying to figure out... I removed a bad MFS just now. The fog light indicator would light up randomly whether or not the headlights were on. Only a light tap inwards would put the indicator out for a few minutes until lighting back up... Now the new (used) MFS is in and all t...

Fog light indicator question

Just a quick question:
If I completely remove both bulbs from my fog lights, will the indicator still illuminate on the cluster when I pull out the fog light switch?

(under the assumption that there are no problems with the mfs/ mfs plug/fuses/etc.)

This totally slipped my mind!

I came down with the flu, and then my folks flew in for a visit and this just sort of disappeared off the radar.

I will do my best to head over there this Sunday.

Your cable assembly looks like it would actually fit the regular US fixed antenna. Anyone here care to comment? I'm going to try and head to the main Chrysler parts warehouse in Tel Aviv today and ask them to show me the mast and assembly they have in stock for the 2001 Neon. I want to put an end to...

I wouldn't really worry about the steering vibrating lose. From what I see on these forums, a lot of folks install performance mounts that are intentionally very stiff and transfer serious amounts of vibration to the cabin. That is to reduce wheel hop. Then again, there are other far more experience...

Definitely fix the alignment. That sounds like it's pretty far off. Also, there is a plastic plug / hole cover in the right front wheel well (about the size of a half dollar coin) which you can pop out. Once it's out, some of the middle mount rubber will be exposed. Give it a look, see if there are ...

Thanks for the tip! No worries about rust here: no snow, no salt. I really don't have a spot of rust anywhere on the car and the paint is still original according to the previous owner and what I can tell.
