Ok, i posted this on the org~ Update~ Alright, it has happened again, started to accelerate onto the autobahn yesterday, engine lost power, acted like a misfire. Did the keydance, got a laundry list of codes. After doing a quick visual inspection, i swapped the horn relay with the asd relay. Car fir...

Pics, please. After the powdercoating, right? Dealership predicts part arrival in about two weeks but I don't have the money to get the part treated, much less installed so it might be awhile. Yep, after the powdercoating. We already know how it looks from the factory, be nice to s...

Yes, i agree. But, there are people out there who think that they can download and install a tune, and will proceed to brick the pcm. There can be many flashes available for the same car. It's the equipment the car is built with that makes the difference. I'm reminded of that everytime i see a tsb f...

Bringing this back from the dead because I was looking for something and this popped up. I read through it and realized I now know a few things in here are incorrect and wanted to clarify. The DRB3 will let you flash SKIM and VIN, among other things you won't get from a publicly available tool. I i...

If the drain plug leaks with normal torquing, then it is time to replace it. The crank sensor bolt does'nt really need to be loctited, proper torque will take care of it. But, if you really want to use loctite, use the blue stuff, it is rated for light duty, the red is for high strength stuff, like ...

Allright, Today i had some time at work before going home, i took the grounds apart and cleaned them. I cleaned G102 and G103, put new bolts in them, as they were rusty, too. I cleaned the ground attachments of the strap on the right side of the engine, where they bolt to the mount and the torque st...

Those bolts can be a real nightmare, sometimes they're rusted like crazy other times not bad. Good luck Midwesterners and Northeasterners should carry a can of PB Blaster or Kroil at all times !! Other than that, this process is pretty straightforward.... Once you get the torx bolts remov...

There are four bolts holding the seatback in. Two of them also anchor the seat belts. Take them out and pull upwards on the seatback. The top part has hooks that go into slots, and it will be tight. Have to push upwards hard. From Techconnect~ https://w05.dealerconnect.chrysler.com/service/mds2002/s...

One point i should have mentioned; they're not all going around the same time, and not w/in hours or days of each other. I figured the horn relay because i use the key fob to lock the doors as i walk away from the car, the horn honks once with the single lights flash. When the horn does'nt honk, i k...

Alright guys, got a good question for you. What would cause relays in the pdc to burn out quickly? I've replaced the starter relay about two or three times already this year, same with the horn relay. Just had my R/T die at the atm on my way home tonight. Did the usual quick diags, no go. Then i rem...

You may find the reason in the connector to the mfs when you pull it out. As i has written in my foglight rewire post, it is due to a design flaw by Chrysler. Having the mfs feed the headlights and foglights directly instead of thru a relay. This is why we see the melted connectors and mfs's. The co...

So, back to the topic, I have a 2003 R/T with about 180K miles on it. I swapped out the trans for a SXT trans just for gas mileage. My job takes me several hundred miles a day at times, so this was important to me. I've lowered the car, not as much for looks as for improved gas mileage and keep my ...

Re: Success!!
Thank you guys for all of the info. I managed to find a really nice brand new replacement K frame (subframe... whatever you care to call it...) It was a fairly simple replacement, however one of the ball joints didn't want to let go... so I screwed up the CV boot trying to ghetto-rig it... so that ...

From what i'm reading here, it sounds like a temp related issue with the starter. Obviously, when it is cold, there are no problems. When it is hot, it does'nt crank. Check and verify that the starter has power to it, and that the solenoid on the starter is getting the signal from the relay, when it...

hot air has lower priority so i will check it later, "Bypassing" is short-circuiting with few resistance, sends unmeasured, static temp to ECU. That's probably where your problem is. The pcm uses the info from the IAT for adjusting the injector pulsewidth, and for adjusting the alternator charging ...

The front doors have a lock override when the doors are opened from the inside. The rear doors do not. Once unlocked, they should stay unlocked, until you physically, electrically, or remotely lock them. It sounds like that there is a problem with either the links or the actuator itself in the affec...

I agree with Jerry, go to the dealer and have them run a vip inquiry. It will come up with any incomplete recalls, and the car's build sheet, too. It also may have some service history, if any was done at any Chrysler Corp dealer. I also agree with Occasional, check the car over, replace what is nee...

One mile to work gets the engine warm, but not fully warmed up. Temp plays a big part in the pcm's fuel strategy. The colder the temp, the richer the fuel mixture will be. I noticed that when i have fewer short trips around town, my mileage gets better. Also, taking a long distance trip on the freew...

What leads your friend to say that the pcm is bad? Check and eliminate all other possibilities first before condemning the pcm. The pcm has no moving parts, it is more likely that you have a wiring problem or a problem in the SKIS. The ring antennae has been known to break. The transponder chip in t...

Are you running the a/c constantly? The a/c does take a little bit of mileage away, although after a day of working in the hot temps, it does feel good during the commute home. I average about around 200 miles per tank, sometimes it's a liittle more, around 220, sometimes it's a little less, somewhe...
