That slip on could easily be modified to be a clean weld in piece, for that price you really can't go wrong. Well I spent a good portion of Sunday waxing my Neon and decided that my previous project car is my new daily driver and my Neon will be my next project car!

It's going to be garage kept this winter :)

If the mounts are good, I'd be looking at a possible clutch issue IF the hesitation and bucking stops if you immediately depress the clutch pedal.

Do you have a scan tool that can show PID data? You need to see if your lean at idle or under a load.

+1 to the above post as well as checking for vacuum leaks.
