Thanks Bill. I am fairly new to Neon's and you have repeatedly been responding to my post questions and providing great guidance and information. I think I can find an 04 PCM so I'll reach out to Kevin. I didn't see the 04 listed on his website so I just assumed he hadn't gotten to the non-turbo NGC...

mix and match magnum question

So I have a 2003 R/T Magnum engine with a NGC ECU for a enduro race car application. I would like to convert this to a SBEC ECU R/T so I can get away from the NGC and perhaps take advantage of a syked ECU. I have located a SBEC R/T engine wire harness, and I plan to goto a junkyard to pick up a body...

Mystery ball in manual transmission

So I was swapping a 1st gen bell housing onto a 2nd gen gear case in order to use in a first gen car with cable driven clutch when something crazy happened. While taping a new axle seal into the gear case housing, a small BB sized ball came tumbling out of the gear case. We looked everywhere to see ...

NGC may actually need the cluster to function. I seem to recall there being a thread about the car not starting with the cluster removed. I recall a similar post, and believe that the issue would be with the SKIM key receiver needing to use the cluster wiring harness to communicate with the ECU. Wh...

Putting a gen 2 R/T NGC motor in a Gen 1 race car - question

We are building a race car for enduro racing, stripped down, no dash or instrument cluster in a Gen 1 neon. Our powerplant is a Gen 2 R/T Magnum NGC motor and transmission. We are fully aware of the debate around the NGC ECU with performance upgrades. We will pretty much just be swapping over the st...

Enduro race car engine refresh questions

We are rebuilding a 2004 Magnum R/T 2.0 to be used in Enduro racing. Based on budget and rules we will very likely be sticking with the NGC controller with stock rev limiter. At a minimum we are planning on replacing bearings, seals, oil & water pump, and piston rings. The stock R/T flat top pistons...

Vin C Ebay Rebuild kit for Vin F Magnum?

Looking at getting an Ebay engine rebuild kit for a 2004 Vin F Magnum engine. All of the kits on Ebay say they are for Vin C engines. Anyone know of a reason why the typical components for an engine rebuild for the C won't work for the Magnum F? talking about gaskets, rings, main and rod bearings, r...
