so there's really no reason to change the PCM out with an MTX swap then, other than the torque lockup check engine light.

Factory freak PCM?!

Finished my MTX swap and just got back from a quick run and found out my ATX PCM revs to 6,700 rpm. It hits 6,500 and goes a little past then it cuts the engine. Is that normal? Not too familiar with powder coating. So I should leave it rough? Say 500 grit?

Well I was impatient and used the SOS pad with great results. Very smooth adhesion primer coat, base coat and finally Upol #1 clear. I'll have pics up later after polishing. As far as the SOS pad goes I didn't get scratches deeper than 1000 grit would have done. If it chips off later, which I doubt,...

Paint prep with an SOS steel wool pad?

I ran out of 600 grit to prep before using primer on my new urethane parts. Can a commercial SOS pad work to give the primer something to bite into? Need help fast or wife will kill me. :beatstick:

Guess I'll just go with an 03+ steering wheel but the airbags that are always sold separately are sooooo damn expensive. I hate the pre 03 steering wheels.

Here's how it ended up. Wood shards and WD40 spray. Popped it off with some healthy swings of the ole hammer. Done. Now to check endplay and turning torque.

Well got the 3.94 tranny swap in the works. Had to swap bellhousings to a cable clutch style so need to check differential bearing endplay and turning torque. Ring gear bolts were a bitch to get off without an impact wrench so I had Rene's Automotive Center help and he did it for free. Props out. No...

Wow! Neons.org is in majority for keeping the eylids and 2gn.org is in majority for the racoons. Man I hate deciding for myself. Thanks for the feedback. Sideskirts coming in a week or so.

Powdercoat them. It looks 10x better. I liked the chrome look too. Just a personal opinion. Would love to see it all installed though before I decide.
