Re: 2003 SRT DD

By the time I got rid of my Neon, I had replaced 3 of the 4 wheel bearings. Shockingly, the driver's front was the only original one left. With all the exit ramp jackassery that car saw in my ownership, I can't believe that's the one still good at ~220k miles. If you end up replacing a front wheel b...

Re: Intake manifolds

I had also posted about a staged TB back when the NGC people were having TPS/MAP correlation issues with larger TB's It might have helped keep MAP values closer during part throttle opening. I've been hearing this for many years, so maybe I got lucky. I ran a Lorenzo 60mm throttle body on my 2003 f...

Dooo eeet. Those sway bars you were talking about would do you well with a setup like that.

Damn, if my old steelies weren't so rusty, that would have given you the wheels you needed.

Man I am so glad to see that car go to someone like you Jerry. I was having a hard time saying goodbye, but to know that you flew up here to buy it, sight unseen, no tools with you, and not only drove it home, but took the damn thing on tour while you were at it... that's good stuff right there. Re: Random posting

Now I wish I didn't bother taking some of the aftermarket stuff off! It will be washed, vacuumed, oil changed, battery trickle charged, and totally ready otherwise by the time you get here. The Shadow ES pumper wheels are still on it. Would you be interested in taking the original 7-spoke SXT wheels...

It seems that way I guess. I really do enjoy the ones I have. Just like my Neon, my two Mazdas are/were:

- bought used with very low miles
- 2.0L
- manual
- more fun to drive than anything on paper would lead you to expect

I just recently added another one to the family. The Mazdas now outnumber the Dodges.

Damn Johnny. That’s a long time to have a car around. If I didn’t have such a huge fleet I’d be interested in it. At 37 years old, that's over 1/3 of my entire life. Additionally, this was never a sideline car like the Daytona. This is my 365-days-a-year car, and was from the time I took possession...

Stock crank pulley reinstalled... for the first time since it was almost new. That means my Unorthodox Racing pulley has an honest 200k miles on it. Also, I pulled the oil pressure gauge. Possibly. The original plan was to donate it since it's essentially worthless. It runs and drives perfect (I put 1340 miles on it this year during Carlisle weekend alone), but the cancer is spreading and the replacement vehicle is already here, wearing the license plates that lived on the Neon for o...

Re: Mods are working OT to beat the bots!

I sent Jason a text message last week suggesting that we could manually activate new users. The 3 of us are on here nearly every day and it would be less work than weeding through once the damage is done. Jason's in school right now, so I don't know what kind of time he has to spend on any of this. ...

OEM ignition coil = 40kV
MSD coil = 36kV

If you just like the look of the red, spray paint the stocker. And as Bill already suggested, try that as your first step in diagnosing the rattle.

I used Mopar PS2 spray paint. I sanded it smooth and coated it in silver, filled the slots and numbers with dark red paint, then cleared over it all. Two years of regular use and it's still smooth.

100% agreed. Forward-thinking American hero with true class. He commanded respect and deserved every bit of it. He was one of very few people that could have rescued this Republican party from wherever the hell it's headed.

On the other hand, I'd never tint my headlights or black out my taillights. Those seem like safety hazards to me. Car is looking good! Those wheels look killer on the black car. I have to jump on the side marker train here though. I'm kind of torn on the side marker delete. Who in the fuck bought a Neon SRT-4 for great gas mileage ? Hehe, nobody , but that wasn't the point of my post. I'm comparing my home-brewed cobbled together setup stuffed in a heavy old car compared to a bone-stock 2.4 turbo properly placed in a nice light car from the factory. From what I rememb...

Re: If you could have another car that's not a Neon... which?

I cannot for the life of me understand why SRT-4 owners get the gas mileage that they do. How fat did Dodge run the 2.4 turbo from the factory??? My setup which now has close to 60k miles on it gets 31-33mpg on the highway (not using the in-dash navigator - using actual calculations tank to tank). I...

Are you asking just about the bare engine? If so, the injectors are the only difference between those years. The 2003 had smaller injectors. The 2004 and 2005 had "Stage 1" injectors which were slightly larger. There are several other differences at the car level, but that's the only difference at t...
