Re: Carlisle 2020

I think this will be a day-of decision for me, literally. Honestly, the showfield doesn't worry me at all. I expect a lot of people to skip this year entirely. Theoretically, that should make social distancing easier. It's the hotel that skeeves me out. It's laughable to think that budget hotels out...

Re: Kumho Ecsta 4x size in oem rims 05 sxt

Just to throw it out there, I ran the exact tire in question: Kumho Ecsta 4X 205/55R15 on my Neon for years and loved it. The tread design will provide you the extra grip more than the width will. I'm currently running the same tire in a 16" size on a different car. You're not going to get 50k miles...

Also, for me personally, I never had a problem with Motel 6. If we end up back there, I'm good with that.

All of the major harness connectors on my Mazdas (door-to-body, ECU, body controller aka "PJB") actually say Lear right on them.

I registered in December to get the discount. Just need to cross my fingers now.

I wonder how club participation is going to work (ie. what club name are we all registering under). I already registered with 2GN.org, but I'd imagine I've got several months to change it.

Dammit, you spectacular bastard. I would pay to drive that car in between when the swap is done, but before you put a 8" lift kit in it.

This style locks in place, so you don't have to hold the spring tension while trying to get the locks in place. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/B0YAAOSwt7pXLOlF/s-l300.jpg You can find them for under $50. This style has worked well for me in the past. There's a window on the spring side so you can pl...

My college roommate bought basically the same car brand new: 2004 R/T, 3.0L manual, lots of options. Comfortable, nice-looking, reasonably quick, and reliable as anything. I recall he had some issues with the air conditioning, but no driveline issues at all. He racked up over 190k miles on it very q...

Re: Don't rely on Gates for timing components...

Interesting read. When I did my last timing belt, I used a Gates belt, Litens tensioner, and Mopar water pump. I was pissed because every aftermarket water pump comes with the gasket. Not the Mopar! I didn't find that out until I was in an inconvenient spot with the job, but oh well. The job was don...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

By the time I got rid of my Neon, I had replaced 3 of the 4 wheel bearings. Shockingly, the driver's front was the only original one left. With all the exit ramp jackassery that car saw in my ownership, I can't believe that's the one still good at ~220k miles. If you end up replacing a front wheel b...

I had also posted about a staged TB back when the NGC people were having TPS/MAP correlation issues with larger TB's It might have helped keep MAP values closer during part throttle opening. It seems that way I guess. I really do enjoy the ones I have. Just like my Neon, my two Mazdas are/were:

- bought used with very low miles
- 2.0L
- manual
- more fun to drive than anything on paper would lead you to expect

Damn Johnny. That’s a long time to have a car around. If I didn’t have such a huge fleet I’d be interested in it. At 37 years old, that's over 1/3 of my entire life. Additionally, this was never a sideline car like the Daytona. This is my 365-days-a-year car, and was from the time I took possession...

I sent Jason a text message last week suggesting that we could manually activate new users. The 3 of us are on here nearly every day and it would be less work than weeding through once the damage is done. Jason's in school right now, so I don't know what kind of time he has to spend on any of this. ...

OEM ignition coil = 40kV
MSD coil = 36kV

If you just like the look of the red, spray paint the stocker. And as Bill already suggested, try that as your first step in diagnosing the rattle.

I used Mopar PS2 spray paint. I sanded it smooth and coated it in silver, filled the slots and numbers with dark red paint, then cleared over it all. Two years of regular use and it's still smooth.
