Re: Random posting
I bought myself a welder finally. Second cheapest flux core welder that harbor freight had. So, finally going to get around to learning how to weld. Then, I’m going to build a neon trailer.

Re: Random posting
Usually I’m really excited for snow but this year I’m just ultra depressed. I hurt my shoulder really bad a few weeks ago, and being in steady pain is taking a toll on me. My dog died on the 6th and it messed up the family. I also miss my dad who passed 3 years ago, and I’ve always hated Christmas s...

We got about 7” before the sleet started. Glad I grabbed these, I had to run to the store earlier and it was a godsend. I had to drive around a jeep that stopped to turn onto my road

Re: Random posting
Going from stock SRT wheels and tires to Rota slips and 205/55/15 tires lost 100lbs on the SRT snd helped it gain a ton of MPG.

Thanks! I’m kind of excited to see if this setup changes my MPG at all. I went from 36 pounds a corner to 29 with the wheel and tire changes. The gearing is a little effected so I’ll have to calculate that in.

Re: Random posting
Made some mistakes mounting the tires I had to fix today. I had mounted one tire backwards and had to flip it around. Another tire the bead hadn’t seated all the way and had a slow leak. I popped the bead off, lubed it up with some soapy water again and popped it back on and it’s just fine. Took a t...

Jeremy - AWD with all seasons is worlds ahead of a FWD with all seasons, I’m sure it’ll do great! Rebel - sorry to hear about your journey’s woes, but that’s how the cycle or chrysler ownership is sometimes. Btw I mounted and balanced the tires myself, I bought a cheap harbor freight mounting tool o...

Re: Random posting
Well our suburban has been down for a month or so. I’m going to need to swap a new motor into it, unless I just sell it. We’re getting 5-8” of snow on Wednesday evening. So yesterday I went out and bought a set of used snow tires. Brand new, never used, just mounted once. They’re a little small, 175...

Re: Random posting
That’s a pretty good setup for something that has a slightly wider track width in the rear. But with the neons being so close, it’s a little difficult to do since there’s not much of a gap on the front.
The yarn and beard though is pretty impressive lol.

Forgot to mention, a while back I bought a set of these "toe plates" for doing your own car alignments at home. Ebay link here I've done some tape measure alignments in my day, but usually end up with the steering wheel off or something. This one, I eyeballed the passenger side tire with the steerin...

I enjoy the dynomax camaro muffler on my SXT years ago. Maybe I’ll find a magnaflow I can use.
400 miles on it so far and it works.
I did switch to a magnum intake manifold and an open air filter, but it sounds sooooo quiet.

I drive 3 hours a day usually. It was somewhat punishing with a loud exhaust. I do want to have my buddy do something, but it’ll take time before I really get around to it.
For city driving though, it’s great.

Re: Random posting
The eBay clutch I used years back originally in my '99, then swapped over to my '01 was pretty soft, and vague feeling. It was worse than stock as far as that, but it was still holding up when I parked the '01. The "feel" was pretty much the same between the two actuation systems. (Cable vs Hydro) ...

Re: Random posting
Got Frank’s car all back together and did some test drives. The XTD clutch does not feel like stock, it almost feels softer than stock. Hoping it lasts me a while. I also think I messed up the central motor mount when I did the clutch. I’ll replace it in the spring when I do the timing belt and all ...

Have Frank’s old car still torn apart. I didn’t have enough space in my garage to do everything so I just missed it in. Now it’s too cold for me to get a lot of work done so it’s been sitting. So far I’ve: 1:Removed the control arms, replaced the bushings and ball joints and bolted them back in plac...

There’s definitely a point of diminishing returns when it comes to wine. I think the point is $15-20 a bottle. For me, I like Cabernet wines.
But I really prefer meads.

Re: Dodge Dart news
After my PT got totaled I had a maxima rental car with a CVT. When you would floor it, it would simulate shifts but would just go from 6500 to 5800 real short. While cruising it would stick at one RPM most of the time. It was unnerving coming from my PT with the 41te but I got used to it pretty quic...

Thanks to Bill and Tom St Clair (PA ACR) for contacting me. I’m picking up a base model 96 this coming week. Probably going to finish parting out my 95 iris sedan so I can use the gas tank and fuel pump from it to fix the black 96. Also made the decision to “just get it done, don’t get it right” for...

Well I never bought the racelands since the seller was a flake. But I did find Gabriel struts for sale on rock auto for $9 each. I had to buy two “left rear” struts but since the car doesn’t have a rear sway bar it doesn’t rightly matter :D Here’s a funny post from my Instagram, I think some of y’al...

Turns out it was the front caliper slider pins being a little stuck. I changed the front pads while I was at it and it works out great. Then today when we were in Gettysburg the clutch pedal dropped to the floor and I had to drive home with almost no clutch input. The old slave cylinder cracked, a f...

It still doesn’t know how to act apparently. Since I swapped the rear brakes I’ve been fighting a soft pedal. Recently I got a bunch of air out but the pedal is still really soft. I bought a power bleeder recently and tried using that. I now have clear fluid to all 4 corners of the car but the pedal...

Re: What would you replace your Neon with?
Assuming I’d have to replace my daily car and not my fun cars, I’d probably pick a 2020 Toyota Corolla hatchback. You can get them with a 6 speed manual and have toyota reliability. If I had to replace my SRT? It would probably be an older omni. Something I could still drive to work once or twice a ...
