Re: Can't get away from Neon's
RECENT UPDATES: The Journey is back up and running with a 90k mile trannie...total cost $1,100. Still loving the ride! LUNA is doing well, but the car has turned into a d DEER MAGNET on my son's girlfriend this past 30 days! First TAP on front end resulted in just a slight bend to the leading edge o...

Re: Random posting
We've been lucky here in WNY for lack of normal big snowfalls SO FAR.... BUT our son's Journey is currently at the "car hospital" with a blown trannie. We knew it had a trans problem before getting it, that codes pointed to just the solenoid pack and had run perfectly for 2k miles once on the road(m...

I would also like to say thank you to all veterans. I have no military service but my late father was a sergeant during the Korean war. And another "hero" of the "forgotten war"...When I was in high school they were still teaching it as the Korean CONFLICT. Was NO conflict about it...It was WAR, in...

Actually on most all the Auto forums I use, membership rules keep things pretty well in line for risks of the hosting platforms. It's the open FB,Twitter and such accounts(sites) that really has the content posting problems to have the hosting platforms in trouble.

Re: Spam
The way the economy is going with food prices rising .....I think I'll cast my vote to buying SPAM over SAUSAGE, as much as I like it, it's gotten too expensive! I grew up with once a week supper meals with SPAM as the meat course...looks like those days may be coming back!

I just love seeing pic's of your ride!
BUT I don't "feel" for you at all about distance to have to drive to get your particular fuel! I have a minimum distance of 13 miles to ANY station for even 87 octane!

Re: Can't get away from Neon's
As a teenager, I had full time employ and pay from family owned VW specialty repair shop. I never worried about gas money or getting a car(I flipped too many to remember them all). $200.00/wk back then from '74-'77 made sure of that. :) Was more of a problem when I went into the USMC and made freque...

Re: Can't get away from Neon's
My daughter complained about their Journey's fuel mileage, so they traded it on a 4WD Ram. :tardbang: :slap: My wife's Forester gets about 8 mpg or more better than the Journey did, and still has a good amount of go power. Most reviews claim the Forester lacks in power, but hey, I don't care, if th...

Awesome! Sounds like its running very good! Yes it is running VERY WELL(pat myself on back for work I did on it)! Fluids, tire pressures checked weekly by her and kept CLEAN inside and out! Well, I gave Luna a clean "bill of health" Sunday afternoon after a good look over and start up check. You guys are making me like "persona non grata" by letting the wife get a PONTIAC G6 gt and quitting on our 98 Avenger!
Son has the Journey now. His GF has Luna the 04 SXT. I've got the 04 Town&Country and the Avenger is HIBERNATING out in the back yard!!

Nice looking mid size truck you found there JJ ! Hope you end up liking it much and for a long time. Myself, I'm not into pick ups at all, would rather have a van or suburban clas equivalent vehicle than a pick up.

OK, now that you've given a bit more history of the car and a general location....I'm not a Neon history expert. I used to often change cars, so rarely named them. The only one I can remember doing so is our 98 Avenger ES that I did name GEM. Sadly it is sitting in hibernation and in need of substantial work IF called into action again(brake lines, struts,EVAP leak) I still start and move her around in the dri...

Well LUNA and son's girlfriend are still "dorming it" at college and both doing well. Her classes are all "on line" and no "student teaching" placements for the semester, as was supposed to be. LUNA is doing fine out in the paved parking lot and gets an occasional drive out for food supplies as the ...

YES, Let us ALL never forget that falling asleep in a harvesting crop field IS dangerous to your health. EVEN if you have a legal firearm and hunting permit.

I KNOW...more work to do...but... How about adding an accent color around the rim bead area to contrast? Gold or Silver maybe???? With a Black car, black rims and tires is just a bit too much for my tastes. With the right accent color and amount of area used, I think the Gray main color of the rims ...

Actually...it COULD work just the opposite way. Look what happened when Dems called for the boycott of Goya foods, their sales and profits went UP. Trump may have his "cake" and eat it too. I just can't wait till Nov. 4th(or whenever they can declare a winner) and just deal with the ramifications of...

Sorry to say this, BUT.... I've never had much luck with Goodyear tires working well with any of the many cars I've had. So I have not "supported" (by further purchases) for some time now.
