Re: AEM uego with MS
I have it set as AEM_NON_LINEAR "AEM UEGO Controller AEM-30-230x" in the configurator, I have the older version where the face plates are non-interchangeable, does that matter? [/quote] Is it actually the non-linear model? Try setting it to "aem_linear aem-30-42xx", and see if that fixes it. It shou...

no there is a while new MS coming out at rs autosports, like a whole new version with boost control and stuff i think. The lastest and greatest is MSnS-E for MS-II. The "new" MS that RS-autosport is advertising as "coming soon" is the old MS-I. Old news... There is a MS-III, but it's still in devel...

well does anyone know how soon the new version will be out? It is out. :D I'm assuming your talking about the MSnS-E code for MS-II. It came out a couple weeks ago. The Neon code seems to be working fine, from what I've heard. The main advantage of MS-II is the ability to control a 4-wire IAC stepp...

Yes, MS does have two step functionality built in. It will only work well though if your running fuel and spark controll. Basically, MS has everything you would ever need as far as rev limiting is concerned. It has: -Fully configurable hard and soft rev limits (you can adjust how much fuel and timin...

The PCM pinouts are exactly the same between '00 and '01 cars. The IAC is the only thing that might be different. I say "might" because they swapped the IAC in the middle of '00. The early ones got the older 4-wire steppers, and the later build dates got the new 2-wire PWM solenoids. Even if your IA...

Re: Oil pump
Did you guy replace the stock Oil Pump with an after market oil pump? Nope. I was considering getting a Melling pump, but I'll probably just port out the stock pump a little bit. Supposedly detonation will kill the stock pump, but I'm never going to detonate so I'm not really worried abou it. I was...

Is this how they balance them from the factory or for something else? That would be the trigger wheel. Balancing is accomplished by the holes drilled ...

Looks like the start of a pretty nice setup. The only major thing I don't see listed is engine managment. You did mention the Walbro fuel pump, which is definitly a good idea, but you'll need to do more than just run a return line. You could go with the spoolboy/return line and RRFPR, but for the sa...

If you get a MS from rs-autosport it will come with the the MSnS-E firmware loaded, but will not have a .msq file in memory. You'll need to setup your own .msq with the settings specific to your car. I do have several .msqs from my car when I was still running N/A. I can email them to you if you wou...

I think I can confidently say, that the reason you grenaded your motor is because you were into the loud pedal, in an overdriven gear.........that puts an AMAZING amount of strain on your engines internals. The motor can handle 5psi, I don't care how good of a tune an engine has, or even how big or...

Actually, the PCM does throw a bunch of codes when the injectors and coilpack aren't connected to it anymore. Last time I checked on my car, I'm getting like 12-14 different codes. None of them have any affect though. Just remove the check engine light and forget about it. :) Concerning the injector...

When you removed the system did you just take out the purge solenoid, box in the rear, and lines? I assume you then capped the line that runs into the brake booster? Yes. Exactly. Also, did you just leave the tank vented to open air or how did you go about venting it? There is an air filter on the ...

Actually, the EVAP system doesn't help emissions (from the tailpipe, that is), rather, it recovers the fuel vapors released during refueling then slowly bleeds the vapor/condensation from the charcoal canister into the TB. So, theoretically it makes tailpipe emissions worse (the actual measurable af...

1). Is there a safe code written that will run NGC 2.0's plug-n-play? If so, how does one go about acquiring that code? Yes. the MS kits i saw online were not pre-assembled. how hard are they to assemble? It's not hard to assemble. It just takes a little time. so basically the AEM has two settings but you get to set what their at? So say since my motor is stock I would be able to set the lower one for 7psi and the higher one for 10psi? Yes. There are two programable boost settings, as well as a scramble boost setting. So, essentially you have three progr...

Sounds very feasible. However, there is one problem. You're still limited by all the parameters of your stock PCM. Sure you can modify your MAP signal, and gain some control of fueling, but you can only adjust the MAP signal within the originally tuned range of the signal. In essence you would be tr...

The power and ground wires going to the sensor are 18 gauge, and the signal wire is 20 gauge. You could extend all of the wires with 18 gauge and it would just fine. On a side note, the downstream 02 sensor doesn't have any effect on the gas milage you're getting. Its only purpose is to monitor the ...
