i have an 18" motegi rim that is cracked on the inside egde. the crack is about an inch long, with the widest part being about 1/16th of an inch (right on the lip). so i was wondering if i can: 1. use a TIG welder and run a ratchet strap around it to compress it and fill it. 2. fill it with JB weld ...

if you lived by me, and had a "modified" appearing car, the cops can open your hood to check for any "illegal" modifications in accordance with local anti-street racing laws. and the further north you go, (like the IE or san berdoo) they'll pull you over, measure the dB level of your exhaust, measur...

rubber-ish stuff on the dash

the coating on my dash right in front of the steering wheel is peeling. i was wondering if there is anyway to get all that crap off and just leave it as the hard plastic. i think because it started peeling in the summer heat, i could just use a heat gun or my girl's hardcore hair dyer to heat it up ...

F*CK ME!!! there is nothing wrong with my damn car.

one of the wires coming off my stereo was grounding out.

so the lesson here is unplug your radio before you buy a PCM or a crankshaft position sensor or anything that seems electrical.

wtf!?!?!?!?!?

if you read my last post about the wiring, that is all hooked back up and now the car starts. but now i have this dumbass fault that i think is pointing towards a dead PCM. it says "no bus" in the speedo window. the car starts but it smells like it is just dumping gas into the cylinders. sometimes i...

ok...what do i need to do to get rid of these? i found a relay spliced into the wires running under the plastic on the steering column and they go down into the footwell and attach to another bundle. all the wires attach to a 14 pin white connector, a 3 pin connector, and a 2 pin connector. but now ...

i got 4 codes that i don't understand

ok. first off, i was driving home and all my gauges stopped working and all the check engine lights came on. thought it was the PCM but i think its ok cuz i pulled out some miscellaneous wiring (looks like there was an alarm or something) and the gauges work now. but i have these codes: P1687 driver...

shops that can manage the swap in SoCal?

Does anyone know of (or work at? or own?) a shop in Socal that can competently do the FULL srt swap? including working out the bugs and maybe offer a small guarantee?

I'm SD and Riverside, so anywhere from LA south is ok with me.
thanks for the help

fiberglass pros...i need help

i'm going to start by saying I HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH FIBERGLASS BEFORE.
now that's outta the way, if i wanted to fiberglass my center console or dash, could i just use the fg resin and hardener mix, or do i have to use the sheets of fg/chopped fg along with the req. hardener/resin?

try autozone. they have the lend a tool thing. you just let them fill out a credit slip for the price of the tools, and if they don't get it back, they put it through. (i think thats how it works)
