I don't think air pressure would work on the lock since there are certain places the key has to turn and other that it doesn't. But I'm not a locksmith.

I think I have that problem but I don't know if it's the boot. It's a pain to shift in the mornings, but I thought it was just because the car was cold. Maybe the source of the resistance was the boot.

Wow. I don't want to go down that road. Just buying the car ate up all my money I had saved (I paid in cash) and it took me from then til now to get a decent amount back in the bank.
