Re: 2003 SRT

Years ago I had a red car, and decided to paint the wheels, I had some gold paint, and it looked pretty decent against the body. But after I painted the wheels and put them on the car, it looked hideous. Sometimes it's one of those things where you just have to do it to really know if you are ...

Re: 2003 SRT

Wheels seem to be the worst for fisheye, especially used ones. Yeah, it isn't terrible, but somehow the color sort of clashes. Of course no two monitor screens are going to show the same exact colors. At least it isn't powder coat, and you are not 100% happy with it. If nothing else, spray paint is ...

Wow, even comes with a very used Glow key, and a mouse guard for the air filter.

Pretty much a necessity if it isn't driven on a regular basis. We had one tear up the air filter in the wife's '96, because she doesn't drive her car but only a few times a month.

Re: RT heads swap

All you should have to do is swap the cam magnet from your 2005 cam onto the 2002 cam. Everything else should be the same as just bolting a replacement head onto the engine. Since you are going to freshen up the bottom end, you might want to use the piston/rod assemblies from the 2002 Magnum engine,...

They bring their own. Probably in 55 gallon drums. They aren't going to rely on "X" drag strip's storage facilities/quality, and drag strips aren't going to take on the cost of buying/storing fuel. I couldn't imagine the costs and liabilities of keeping alcohol, let alone nitromethane in large tanks...

Thanks- I've never owned a car this long. It is quite amazing, especially since yours is still in such a great shape. Mine turns 21 this month and I now own it for over 17 years. I owned my first car, a 1964 Polara convertible for ~18 years. In the end, I sold it for parts. Hopefully some of it still lives on... I kept my Jeep XJ for 16 years. I kept my 2001 neon for 16 years. Half of it is still in my garage... I have had the '99 for 9 years now. I have had my Raider for 25...

Re: The Official eBay, Craigslist, etc Links Thread for Cars

Too much effort to just remove two screws and take the plate off. Or maybe a few more, and the entire bracket, for a little cleaner look. The screw holes would be less noticeable in pictures than a finger. Not too many ppl will go the extra mile to sell their car. At least it is clean. I always get ...

Does it have ABS?

My dad's Dakota only had rear ABS, and AFAIK didn't require the DRB to bleed them, and that was a hassle to get bled out.

One reason why I avoided a car with ABS for as long as I could. Not a fan of having to pay someone to bleed my brakes.

Re: What would you replace your Neon with?

In all honesty, I would just get another car, and keep the neon(s).

What would be replaced is the Impreza. With 215,000 miles, rust beginning, and deer damage, if it gets me through another winter, and a good ways into 2021, I'll be good.

Eventually, I will probably sell one of the neons...

Re: What would you replace your Neon with?

It would probably be a smaller SUV, as some of them get just as good fuel mileage as a compact car, and still have decent power.

I would be giving up some handling, but then my 2001 neon out of the box, was not exactly stellar. I think my Jeep XJ cornered better.

Re: What would you replace your Neon with?

The only options for new, in the same general class, would be an import brand. There aren't many domestic brand made compact cars. The cars that would not kill you in new tech repair costs are about as slim as getting another decent neon. Anything newer will be expensive to have diagnosed and repair...

Re: The Official eBay, Craigslist, etc Links Thread for Cars

At least that stuff is very minor, and can be reversed in a matter of minutes. I seen a VW "new" Beetle the other day, that had been painted white, (rattle can) even the headlights were sprayed, with a small hole in the center for the light to escape. That's taking the monochrome theme a bit overboa...
