Re: Read the How To for speaker replacement, have one question...

Ah, ok. Maybe I should just get the 6.75s and pop them in the doors. The 6.75s should fit straight into the doors then? Thanks for the help. From Crutchfield. In-dash stereo 7-3/16" depth; Size code E Front speakers Dash: 3-1/2" Front Door: 6-3/4" Rear speakers Rear Deck: 6x9" I just bought tweeter...

Re: Read the How To for speaker replacement, have one question...

Most of those adapters attach directly to the door shell. To keep the angle, you'll have to make the replacement speaker fit to that. Honestly, it's been way to long since I installed speakers in my door to remember what I did or used. 1st gens (95 to 99) don't angle the door speakers, which would g...

Re: Intake manifolds

I had also posted about a staged TB back when the NGC people were having TPS/MAP correlation issues with larger TB's It might have helped keep MAP values closer during part throttle opening. I've been hearing this for many years, so maybe I got lucky. I ran a Lorenzo 60mm throttle body on my 2003 f...

I had also posted about a staged TB back when the NGC people were having TPS/MAP correlation issues with larger TB's It might have helped keep MAP values closer during part throttle opening. Meh, just because you ban them doesn't mean you need to delete the post. I didn't delete the post. I was just saying that you could have banned them, and it wouldn't have had any impact on the thread. You said you didn't ban them because you wanted to see what replies were made, so that says to me ...

Meh, just because you ban them doesn't mean you need to delete the post. There are no links in it, or the sig, so it isn't hurting anything.

I bant them, before they began adding more nuisance posts throughout the forum to clean up.

Re: Intake manifolds

Ideally a staged throttle body would have a combined opening of less than a 70mm equivalent, unless you have some serious mods done to actually make use of that much air volume, and at that point you better have forged internals. If I were to use a staged TB, I would have both bores at about 40mm, e...

Are there any FCA products that you like? Charger/Challenger. But really not feasible (for me) as a DD, and way too expensive for a weekend toy. Until I win the lottery, neither will be in my stable. Re: Dodge Dart news

The oil consumption thing was a limited issue to one year, The front turn signal issue was actually a wire harness not being routed correctly, and was pulled too tight. The tail light, probably a freak light bulb. If I judged an entire company off of one car, I would have been done with Chrysler yea...

Re: Brake issues and Upgrade

The opposite brake hose might be collapsing internally to some extent, putting the brake bias onto the other wheel.

A tire that is not the same model as the other can do this too.

Can't say I recommend hard braking/locking a front tire at high speed though. Might earn a Darwin award.

Have you looked at the Chevrolet Spark or the Toyota Yaris ? They're both "fugly" but sell well. Does anyone know the best place to mount the aem water/meth tank and pump? Some people sacrifice their windshield washer tank. You could mount it in the left fender area, where the air intake resonator is/was. You would need to fab a filler neck, and some way to determine fluid level though. There ...

You could have bought a Magnum IM gasket, or a '95 aluminum SOHC IM gasket for the flange set up. But too late for that now. The stock PCM will handle those upgrades without issue. A better cam than the 12 would be the Comp Cams 400. The 12 isn't much bigger than the 2001 Magnum cam. The 400 is the biggest cam that the stock PCM will have zero issues with. If you are looking for a noticeable seat of the pants feel in powe...

My 2001 has 210,000 on the front crank seal, and it's bone dry. I replaced the rear main when I did the clutch the first time, just because. It was still soft and pliant. My '99 had unknown miles; well over 200,000 on it's rear main, it started pouring oil one day. It was rock hard and looked like s...

You could try experimenting with the clutch master cylinder rod adjustment at the clutch pedal. My 2001 didn't downshift the best, until I made a few adjustments under there. After that, it shifted a lot better. It went from not going into first until nearly stopped, to sliding in at 45 mph if you w...

The vibration could have been more related to the wheel bearing. Now that it is getting louder, the bearing may have enough slop that it isn't so notchy on the bearing balls. I just recently had a right axle shaft go out on my Subie, and a week later the left wheel bearing. The wheel bearing was exa...
