Misfire detection at a specific rpm usually seen on the highway? My 02 would ding before it would hit a solid CEL for that.

I think you saw my picture on the other .org, but I'll post it for the guys here. Spun the cage nut for that bolt a few years ago. It especially sucked since I was doing it in an apartment parking lot and didn't have any high powered tools. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/chadramey/P1020083-1...

I blew the 3rd gear synchro in my car slamming into gear at about 8500rpm. Shoulda waited for the engine to slow down a little. You really don't need the synchros, you can drive fine without them provided you shift into gear at the appropriate rpm...won't even make a noise. You just have to be quick...

Props for doing the manual rack right! I always regretted looping the lines rather than doing a rack swap. I saw above you just did a rescale for the e85 switch. Were you rescaling the fuel trims only? When tuning my car for e85, I noticed vast improvements by increasing ignition timing. Low end dri...

So here was my MPG story over my car's lifetime. 1. Got about 30mpg on my stock setup. This stayed about the same as I started adding boltons and mods like 10.5:1 pistons and a comp 400. 2. Crazy built engine running e85 of stock ECU. Wasn't making good power in the upper RPM due to poor tuning. Ran...

I was going to suggest removing both accessory belts like Bill said.

I hated random noises from that area. That's why I decided to go without a timing belt cover.

Welcome! $300 is a steal for that car. Looks like it's got a nice set of snowflake wheels. I'm betting that tropical option is just a recalibration of the ECU to deal with higher humidity. I've heard of OEMs doing that for regional tunes on vehicles. Also, I found that I could remove my 02's lights ...

Under drive pulley will give you the best bang for the buck in the low end. The stock intake manifold is best for low end torque. Aside from that, uppping the compression and sticking with the stock cam will give you more low end as well. Either DOHC oem pistons or 10.5:1 forged would be what you're...

I think the most benefit of doing this comes from weight savings. Unless you're stripping your car for weight reduction or needing extra room in the engine bay, leave it alone (think about the resell value for later).

I didn't read through the whole thread, but I also recommend the Comp 400. It's the best cam for a dd. Awesome torque band and low end due to no overlap. I wouldn't bother with the 12. I ran it for 3.5yr with no issues. Granted, for tw of the years I was properly tuned for it. I would at least recommend swapping to the R/T ecu. The extra timing would be incredibly beneficial.
