Re: Battery options..

That's what I've heard, that the yellow tops are pretty much the best option... that could not be further from the truth. optimas are actually one of the worst name brand batteries out there. google them and see how many "bad battery" listings come up. their 6-pack design leaves less room inside fo...

If you go with a new system, remember mark up on retail electronics is usually never less than 40% over wholesale...usually they try and go upwards of 60% mark up. So, if your going new, look for year end close outs at discounted prices. For Instance, my end of the year, is July 1st. I am putting a...

And go ahead and flame running two different kinds of subs, young dumb, whatev, but it sounded great, the box was divided, run on two...

gain does not equal volume. it is used to level match the incoming signal to the amp. saying it is at halfway means nothing as an amp can produce it's full power at "0".

what subs are you running?

how are they wired?

what model is the amp?

what type of power/ground do you have?

i have come to the conclusion that my car doesn't like winter. once the temps warmed back up everything went back to normal and has stayed that way. now i'll just wait til the fall/winter and solve the problem if/when it comes back.

gotcha. you would still be better off getting a pair of dual 4ohm subs and wiring them down to 1ohm. it would not only save you money but it would be less of a draw on your electrical system (vs 2 sub amps), and you will be putting a massive load on it already. i run a pdx 4.100 and 1.1000, all powe...

according to the bestbuy site they only sell 1 kicker 1000 watt mono amp and the specs said it was 1000x1 @ 2ohm. if that info is wrong then maybe look into buying some subs that are dual 4ohm instead. you may be getting the discount but why spend more money than you need? you will also be making li...

why are you buying 2 mono amps when you only need 1? the cvr are dual 2ohm subs so you can have a final load of 2ohm, which will have the amp produce 1000 watts / 2 subs = 500 to each.

no problem. the pico fuse is a widely known issue with almost all pioneer head units. most times it is caused by "hot swapping" rca cables (connecting or disconnecting them while the head unit has power) but it has been known to happen on it's own.

do some research. read the reviews. stick to a name brand and you will be fine.

Pioneer PRS-D4200F

# 4-channel car amplifier
# 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (150 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
# 300 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

i prefer https://www.knukonceptz.com/productDeta ... ID=KBT-30P for terminals.

follow the pic in the thread and you should be done in 1-2 hours depending on your speed. once you have done it a few times it gets much easier - i can have it done in less than 15 mins after pre-cutting the wires.

yes, same length. no, it is not. the only hard part, if you go with 0g, is the fact you have to break off a bit of the plastic housing around the positive post on the alternator to get the ring terminal to fit. even that is not hard to do.

an l7 is not a sq sub and i bet your amp is only doing close to 450 or so rms (assuming 1800 is max, 900 would be realistic but cut that in half for being a boss), which an l7 will laugh at.
