there are only 2 bolts, but you can't move the headlight enough to get to the bulbs unless you move the grille and bumper a bit.

Whats that on the picture? Junkyard experience? The bumper looks like shit. Horryble fitment, gruesome grill mesh and wrong headlights. Better show us no pics anymore - until you've found a way to make it right. With this setup better drive not around - ricers will laugh about you! wow. ever heard ...

turns out it wasn't the amp at all but rather the hu. they called me after running it for 6 hours straight on a bench and nothing. while driving my other amp started to act up so i did a little testing and found the hu was having problems with the rca connections. swapped in for my old one and all i...

you are correct sir. halogen is much hotter than hid when operating.Donkeypuncher wrote:LilSparkPlug wrote: The aftermarket ones have very strange light patterns and with HIDs in them (which on the back it says not to run, they melt the housings) they get even stranger.
I though HID lights run cooler than normal headlights.

i'd love to meet the genious who designed our headlights. i bought chrome bulbs (amber when on) to replace the turn signals since that yellow just looks like crap and it is a huge difference. getting to them however was worse than any other car i have ever owned. removed the 2 main bolts and then th...

i searched all the old threads about the stock audio system looking for answers to my own questions, and not one post i read siad anything about finding an aftermarket hu to work with the stock cd changer. that particular alpine hu you linked has a rear usb input, so you could buy (if you don't have...

they are cadence txa series amps. both are about 10" deep, 3" all. the short one is about 18" wide and the big one is about 28" wide. do you have any sound deadening in your trunk nitehawk? i have 2 layers of dynamat xtreme which is one hell of an insulator. add to that the fact it transforms energy...

the amp supposedly has good thermal protection and neither i nor the rep of the company (who is s great guy) can figure out what went wrong. i sent it back to them today to have it checked out and repaired. between the 2 amps and the dynamat acting as insulation there is a chance that the heat did i...

it was over 90 that day with high humidity, 2 layers of dynamat xtreme (converting vibrations to heat), my amps have a very large footprint and i run them quite high, car sat in the sun all day, no real air movement, i stubbed my toe, amp possibly was assembled wrong or had a defect, the gods hated ...

thought about that but it's a little too ghetto for my tastes. besides, i would have to remember to put them back up each time and the extra bass from the trunk would make me have to retune the system. there are some sort of openings near the tail lights tfor vents right? i wonder if i could rig up ...

ac to the trunk?
anyone have any thoughts on how to get some ac to run into the trunk relatively easily? the summer heat has already fried one of my amps and i am without subs until it gets back from warranty repair so i want to cool down the trunk. i can get some 80mm computer fans pretty cheaply but they would jus...

it's all custom work when you see a double din hu installed. it is not too hard to do if you have some basic fabricating skills. in a nutshell, use fiberglass and/or body filler to make the bezel opening bigger and them you have to fab some sort of new mounting system behind the bezel. you will have...

don't bother with a cap. it is a waste of money. upgrade your power and ground wires under the hood and cover the trunk in some form of sound deadener. i used dynamat extreme and covered everything i possibly could. about 95% of the rattles are gone from a pair of alpine type-r 10's getting around 6...

i got so sick of not having my system complete i broke down and bought a pre-fab'd box as a temporary solution just so i can have it all hooked up. did have one bright spot and found that circuit city was having a close-out and got a dual 10 sealed box for $16 after tax, so i don't feel quite so bad...

don't just use a piece of sandpaper in your hand. use some form of a block, even if it is just sandpaper attached to a piece of wood. you will never get a good flat surface with your hand as it applies pressure in different amounts. filler sucks. no way around it. looking good. how long til you make...
