definately run the power and ground wires down one side and all others on the opposite side of the car. if you have the wire already you may as well run it but there is no need to ground at the battery. it is grounded to the car already.

mat or cloth will work. cloth is a bit smoother but requires more layers vs mat. either way you will have to fill and sand to get it fully smooth.

why are they crap? no need to give out false info because you have another set for sale. they will be a dramatic improvement over the stock speakers.
