I've finally come to terms with the fact that MY Neon will never be a 400HP Street Screamer. What it IS is a fun to drive little car that looks good, can be made to handle well and gets good gas mileage. Those points far out weigh the lack of HP and that's why I love my little Neon.

Unfortunatly the 2.0L SOHC Neon engine isn't ment to be a power house, it's ment to be an economy engine that gets good gas mileage. Best thing you can do is like others have said. Add a decent muffler or exhaust, get a CAI or otherwise add a K&N or other free flow air cleaner get the Under Drive Pu...

I am in the same boat...SRT springs are in the garage and looking for a sway set. I think I am going to hold off on putting the springs on until I can buy the Eibach sway bar set from Modern, it says it comes with everything you need to mount the rear even if you don't have the factory tabs. ^^^ Th...

I've read that SRT springs work pretty good with stock SXT struts and don't drop it much, that's why I'm going with them instead of something that'd give me more drop. I just need to find a rear sway bar set-up with mounts for the stock SXT struts since they don't have mounting points for the links....

I won't be droping the car much since I'll be using SRT springs so front will be .5" and rear might be .75" at the most. I guess I could live with my 20mm front bar and just add ES bushings to it and get a 19mm rear factory bar and some mounts for it and be ok. I really wanted to go 19mm rear and 24...

Thanks, I'll have to check em' out again. If I can't find what I'm looking for in a J-Yard or from a privite party I might have to hit the local dealer up and see what they've got. Of course here the prices are outragously high. Talk to ya' later.

PT Cruiser Front sway bar on '05 SXT.

I think I remember reading that a PT front sway bar can be used on a Neon. It's suppose to be 26mm IIRC. What about the PT rear bar, can it be used or not. Thanks.

I'm not talking shit, I'm stating facts. 1) My car already has a computer to run the engine so why should I have to buy anohter one. 2) MS IS NOT God's Gift to Neon NGC owners. 3)MS may only be $400 but then you have to add a lap top and wirring harness in with the mix so it's actually more like $10...

Everyone says Comp 400 or Crane #14 but you have to change springs for those to work right. I'd like to put a turbo on my car at a later date and the #12 is suppose to be just about perfect for that. Also, I don't know if you need to change springs with it or not, best guess is that you won't.

Currently it's fine but I know after the springs It'll need one so I just might wait and do springs and sway bars all at once then get an alingnment and be done with it. Thanks for the reply.

Show me a carburetor that has the tunability of an EFI system and I'll prefer the carb. Tuning an EFI is what MS and a laptop are for. I have no problem changing jets and power valves but EFI is better. Ok, so now it's EFI AND a MS unit. I don't have MS, don't have the money to install it. Even if ...

Question about sway bars and alingnment.

I'll probably have my SRT springs before I have my new sway bars so they'll be installed first. I know I'll need to get an alingnment for all 4 wheels after the spring install. What about when I add the rear sway bar and a larger front sway bar, will I need an alingnment after they're installed too?...

The neon name brought along the stigma of unreliability. I understand that from a 1st Gen stand point but the 2nd Gen is as good as anything on the market today. Personally, it's the easiest "smog motor" that I've ever worked on. The Engineers actually did it right with the Neon so we can work on i...

I know Fuel Injection is better than a carb, but I won't have much money to get an EFI system setup and my dad has carbs laying around all over the place. 12MPG FTW F/I is ONLY better then a carb IF you've got a dang plug in computer tuner to tweak it. I'll take a carb 10 to 1 over F/I any day of t...

I'd look here on the forum. I just picked up a set for pretty reasonable. No reason to buy new at dealer price when a lot of good people right here have good parts they've taken off of their cars that they'd sell cheap.

Depending on what you have now there are a lot of "stock" parts that could be upgrades to your set-up and can be had for a lot cheaper the aftermarket stuff. SRT or ACR springs will help, larger factory sway bars will help. I'm going SRT springs and trying to get either a 17mm rear/22mm front or 19m...

If they are going to bring back the Neon they'll need to make it a lot safer first. "In 2005, the Institute carried out side impact tests on fourteen small car models, simulating an impact with an SUV. Among these, the Neon performed the worst. The Institute's chief operating officer Adrian Lund sta...

frank, if i can do it, anyone can do it. it's just a matter of taking everything off of the passenger's side of the motor, pulling the battery and jacking the driver's side up enough so the cam can clear everything when pulling it out. on the driver's side it's just a matter of removing the cps. pu...
