Re: I'm in love

I drove my friends SRT-4 acr tonight... That is all Excuse me while I go look for a car loan  Felt the same way after I test drove one at a local dealer. Had a smile on my face all the way home and now my '05 SXT feels balls slow. Still love the gas mileage I get but miss that SRT power I felt.

Don't know if the brackets would fit but we've got bushings at AutoZone. Most are sized in inch not mm so you'll have to convert to get the right size. End links are going for $20 bucks a pair and center mounts are $25 a pair IIRC.

If you were to retard the #12 a couple degs it'd move the power band down a bit. 6300rpm is kind of high for me since I shift at 6500 I'd never be back into my toqure curve after I shift. Ideally you want to be at max toqure right after the shift and since most MTX's that I see generally drop you 10...

3.94's gears Since gears multlply toqure then going from the 3.55's to a 3.94 will help. Also, if you get something like a Crane 12 and get an adjustable cam gear you can dial in the cam to make power in a lower rpm range and have more toqure where you want it to be. Higher compression will also he...

Well, heck, I guess a turbo would be about the only way to do for a "power all the time" power adder or nitrous for a "power sometime" adder. It's just that I'm wanting that SRT soooooo badly but would like to make the car I already own up to par with one since it's already paid for. Maybe in a coup...

And now for something completly different. What about a roots style blower that'll replace the intake mani with the TB on the drivers side of the blower(intake side) and the pulley on the passengers side to be run by a belt. I know that would take a LOT of fab work to come up with the prototype but ...

You guys do know that a Paxton is about the same size as a turbo, right? I'm not talking about something like a Dryer 4-71 or 6-71. Do a google on Paxton Superchargers and you'll see just how small they are.

A Paxton wouldn't make any more heat then a turbo, in fact if you look at the design of the Paxton it's pretty much a belt driven turbo. I think it could be done if someone would just fab it up.

I wonder how Chevy got away with putting a supercharger on their Cobalt? Seems like a couple of brackets would be all you'd need to mount the SC then run the pipe thru an intercooler and back into the TB and that'd be about it. Much simpler then a turbo having to run a new exhaust mani, pipe from th...

Question about supercharging.

Ok, we all know that adding a turbo is THE way to go BUT what about something like a Paxton supercharger? Seems like if you could fab some brackets it'd be easy enough to mount the SC and run it thru an intercooler then into your TB. You'd just need a longer belt to run the SC off of the engine and ...

Um, after recently getting to drive a pretty much stock SRT-4 and after driving my lightly modded SXT with MTX I can say as a positive FACT that NO stock Neon would ever be as fast as an SRT-4. My SXT gets up and moves along nicely for what it is but the SRT was Scary Fast IMHO.

Using side marker lights to run driving lights.

First question, is there any law, at least in Tennessee, that says you must have front side marker lights on your car? Second, do the front side marker lights also act as a turn signal light? If the answer is "No" to both questions then I think I could use the wiring from the front side marker light...

I got a P0440 and a P0457, both were about a week apart and after my wife put gas in the car. Turned out to be the gas cap. I put it on properly, deleted the code and it's be fine ever since. First thing I'd check on the car is a properly fitting gas cap. Then go from there.

A/C comes on when on defrost and non-A/C fan.

I noticed today that when I've got my settings on defrost, cold and turn the fan on(to the right, not the left for A/C) that the A/C compressor kicks in. What gives???
