as far as the lights dimming... i would get a cap first, then upgrade wires, then an alternater, then battery... ABSOLUTLY not! Here is the basic problem with Caps: Unlike a battery, it can discarge its full load very quickly. This is great for small draw needs from amplifiers, but the basic proble...

The UDP is definatly a good investment. Any aftermarket muffler as well. As a header goes, im not convinced that it will make a lot of differance on the stock head. Motor mount inserts are definatly a worthy mod (if you dont mind sacraficing a bit of ride quality). Looseing weight = great speed gain...

Prothane MM inserts: Street VS Race (both tested!)
OK guys, here we go! A while back, i bought the street inserts from howell. They charged me as street on my invoice, but opening the box and finding red and VERY hard inserts, they definatly didnt feel like the streets. Well, I put them in anyways just to see if i would like them. Installation was v...

right now, ill guess you can run... (assuming stock 2.0 SOHC with manual) low 16's at best. If you have the money, go right to a turbo setup. A good turbo setup will drop you into the 14's with ease. Get a good intercooler on it, of course ;) And not to mention a good 2.5"+ exhaust system. Expect $3...

I can see where if i welded on a 60mm inlet on the intake manifold (instead of my ported 54mm) and then got the mag head (where im guessing most of my loss is) i would most likely feel the TB the most. But on the stock SXT head, i dont think it can flow well enough to use the full potential of the 6...

well..i'm not gonna go buy a Crane 12 AND have it put in since i just had the Crane 14 put in. :P AND..i've already got the tranny cooler and RMVB... Its a pain, but im sure you wouldnt spend much more after selling the 14. As Rose said it, sticking with that big cam where your RPM limited and want...

auto is too boring for me, i cant stand it. 5spd atleast keeps my attention I agree. Auto is just... after 5 years of an Automatic (88 nissan pulsar) it was time to change over to the 5 speed. I was really rusty at first (VERY VERY rusty actualy, but didnt kill it or anything like that... often) Bu...

FYI = Theory (and im sure some experiance out there as well) says that the mag header (or borla designed header) will not do much until the mag head is put on as well. The mag head has bigger exhaust ports to allow for faster, freeflowing exhaust and is matched (i beleive) to the mag header. My mag ...

Warranty :? People still have these? GEEZ! Hehhee, as long as you know what you are doing (or have a pretty good stab at it) you probably wont mess anything up with the installation of aftermarket parts. If you put a CAI on and a few months later a strut blows out, They should honer the warranty unl...

Where does the extra power come from between 00-02 and 03+?
I was thinking about this...
The 00-02 came with a 9.8:1 compression, where the 03+ comes with 9.3:1 compression. But both are based at 132hp a the crank...
So how does the 03+ get the extra power to keep its 132HP?
Thanx!

2.5" for sure. ESPECIALY if you plan things such as CAI, 60MM TB, any port and polishing (head or intake), etc. Sounds like you plan to do this, so go for it! :D I, personaly, wouldnt spend the money unless you have it. Also, how long do you plan to keep your car (and keep it N/A and not turbo?) If ...

i think its LEGAL to have a breather on the top portion (replacing the sponge) but not emmissionable to replace the other (going from valve cover to intake). If you are worried about oil, wal-mart has oil catch cans that can be made cheaply ;) ANYBODY know if there is an advantage of running your br...

Go to Sears and get a digital laser thermometer. should help out nicely. Thought about that, but i want real time while driving temps... im going to do a thermal probe on several places on the intake system and check it out ;) That way, i can say "temp outside is XX, shield on going XX miles per ho...

As i mentioned on .org... NGC myth busting would be interesting. Doing a run as you pull up as is, then doing a run after a computer reset should show some differances if the NGC is truely keeping up to scale. And, if they allow it, get a coupon for your 3rd run and come back after doing UDP, Mag in...

ive seen it before. they posted it on the org, and i comented about its HP numbers being VERY unimpressive IMO, which of coruse led to me being banned, again. its a fast car and truly amazing, dont get me wrong, but 317 isnt that great. Oh, of course! Agreed, its not a large HP number, but at the s...

Easier? Maybe... but that fiberglass insulation is easily $20-50 and looks like ass! Plus, you still have that heat being blown directly onto the motor. Though, i do plan to coat my entire intake manifold with a fine rubber compound (did a post on doing the tubing, worked out very well). Rubber will...

not to be an ass but why struggling so hard to make the intanke 6 degrees colder (it doesnt mean the AIR will be 6 colder). spend those 200 bucks in a mpx udp and you will be faster than shielding the intanky with anything you can come up with :P Have you ever felt how hot the air is when the fan k...

Thanx for the info on the evo hood. I thought the openings were right over around the intake maifold of the neon?
