well normally a faulty coolant sensor wouldnt cause the fans to turn on but the exact opposite they wouldnt kick on and ur car would over heat, so I would think your car is over heating and maybe you have air in the cooling system i would start there. well 8.5 in the 1/8th shouldnt take too much ive run a 8.901 in the 1/8th and my mods are hard pipes and Foward motion wastegate at 16 psi on street tires. Thats true but, If only one line is pulled then that one has to be bled. Its not like air got sucked through the whole system, when you pull a brake line fluid comes out and stops at the hard line but it doesnt suck in air. To answer ur question you can do the swap into ur 1st gen but it will require some work. i know you need a special motor mount bracket for the passenger side mount. You will need everything from an srt to make this run, Motor/trans, harnesses, axels, cluster, pedals, slave cylinder, shifter cables, ...
