that looks like the same company that makes the ones that you cant use HID balbs in .. if it is .... then their light quality won't be all that bad ... just the crappy adjusters on em .. and needing to seal the housing.

my guess would be vent the brakes ... using something like that to cool them i could see potential problems at higher speed with that much air being pushed under the car.

yes if you are careful you can put the stripper (i would reccomend trying WD-40 first, if that doesn't work then an odorless mineral spirits) ... on a rag and start wiping it off ... you likly will end up with a dull finish ... get a plastic polish (from 3M) and polish them back up to a shine afterw...

the flat one like in the photo will mount up ... just may have to trim a little off the bottom of bumper to make it sit flush ... will need to use the strut peices to hold it in place and not rip it off....

did the bulb for the fog lights in 01 change?

reason i am asking this ... a good majority of the charts i look at and such say 9145 .. and a few have the 8xx series listed ... well 9145 doesn't even come close to fitting mine has an 898 in it IIRC ... a smaller version of the 9145 that has retention clips on the sides

finally got mine almost tweaked enough to be adjusted right ... ended up aiming them a little to low ... so got to move each up a notch or two ... then double check and take it for a test drive again .. i think once i get the right bulbs for my fog lights i won't need to go to a higher wattage bulb ...
