as far as you could be sure, you get the right foglights for your model year -you will be fine.

Mine was behaving like yours is and it had been the left cv-axles inner (trany-side) bearing.

imho it´s just a momentary switch so you should be fine to wire up the 2nd and any one else you like at the same contacts the 1st is.

I swapped my 4-disc to a 6-disc and it´s working perfectly, so your changer might be defective

Easiest and cheapest thing might be to try 1st is a LED-bulb at the socket of the frontlights turnlight. See if there is any effect - eg. that LED blinks asynchronous, too or not.
If there is no effect, maybe try a bulb at the mirrors end of the wire instead of the LED and then parallel with the LED.

imho it shouldn´t depend on the position you used for inserting the wire. When I soldered the wires for my fender-side-turnlights nearly at the same position, it is working well (with standard bulbs, no LED). So maybe more what occasional demons said, but otherwise I think the LED´s won´t work at al...

Have the control arms been swapped or the bushings refurbished recently ? The brakes, cv-axles ? Maybe try to get over the next hill fast enough and shift into Neutral-Position before. Got a set of RT alloys but am wondering if the bolts on the RT (2001) originally are longer than on a LE (2000) ?
