engine noise
Your car sounds just like mine. My car has new rocker arms and lash adjusters. Just a normal thing for a Neon IMO. I like to look at it as the engine being loose and frees up another 1/4 hp. lol. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I watched the vid as well. My question would be, how the heck does the engine get air when this thing is not running? That fan wheel is massive and would restrict airflow. I don't see any benefit to it at all. Just a scam in my book.

You didn't say if the engine was a SOHC or DOHC. I had the same problem with my 1999 Neon Sport every time there was a problem with the EGR system,,,,,,,which was constantly. The 99 was a DOHC. Never did get it to straighten up and the cel was on for that when I sold it.

clutchmasters vs centerforce clutches
My son used a centerforce clutch in his Eagle Talon. .020 over bore, bolt ons, and 50 shot of nos. The clutches didn't hold up at all. Had constant problems and they wore out quickly. When I told him to go clutchmaters he just gave me.........the stare. Oh well, I was only 52 at the time...bout........

If the battery was bad it wouldn't start when jumping the relay imo. The cluster doing that is what is bugging me. If you have the old cluster try changing it out and see what happens. Worth a try. I would get a new starter relay as well. Check the ground strap form the battery tray to the starter f...

a/c lines hitting Mag IM
Bill, my 2000 ES has the same a/c lines as your car. Mine was built on 4-99. Could it be there was a change to the lines after that build date? Check your build date, this could be the reason you are having trouble. I'm interested in this now, because if I install a mag IM I will know the solution t...

R/T02 is prolly right on the door lock as one failed on my car. It wouldn't click or anything after a while. Before it quit all together it would make a buzzing noise when I unlocked it. There is a guy on ebay that sells used ones for a reasonable cost. His seller name is camaro22 and he is located ...

well, it goes like this, a very small leak they say is a pin hole of only .020 of an inch, a medium leak is twice that. Unless you have some knowledge of the entire evap system plumbing, and even then, IMHO it would be dumb luck finding it. There are dealers and shops that can use a smoke generator ...
