the crossover adjustment is under the console. WARNING: DO NOT attempt this if your shifter bushings are bad! Very bad things can happen! Remove shift knob. Take out the 2 screws in the front cupholders after pulling the parking brake up all the way. Then take out the 4 screws in the bottom of the s...

Dang man, your car looks wicked! I like the shots from the rear as it looks fast just sitting there. You made an apology for the car being dirty?. Man I wish I could keep mine that clean. My driveway is gravel and faces a dirt road. UHHHHHH! ](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

You are dead on OD! The dealer here has to special order them, but the price is a few cents higher at $36.00. This parts guy is sharp most of the time, but today he really got under my skin with his recommendation. He said buy some rope caulk and mold it to the headlight then put it in place. EXSque...

Yup, dump the atf+4 first of all. Mobil 1  . Mine did the same as yours on an intermittent basis. Have you checked the shifter bushings and adjusted the crossover? You can find how to adjust it in the Haynes manual or fsm, simple to do. How old is the clutch? Worst case scenerio it could be ...

I haven't done this but have heard people talk about it. You will need a flasher unit to stop the ricer flash.....flashes really fast with stock flasher. Some of the led sites sell them. Not sure if that is the right bulb but if it converts to the stock bulb number it should work. The smd bulb is th...

Yup Jared, I am not far from you. Been to Cookville many times. My wife is from Dunlap. Have you checked with a stealership to see if there are any outstanding TSB's on your car that deals with your issue? I have a 2000 ES and when I checked there was one dealing with harsh a/c engagement from 2001 ...

Sorry you are having so much trouble Jared. I am sure by now you have checked the bellows tube for tears, cracks and loose clamps. That's the rubber tube between the tb and intake. I know my clamps got loose one time and did that. LOL one time I did it after cleaning the throttle body and the thing ...

I know that I saw a site where these were sold but for the life if me I cannot remember which one! You might check the forsale threads here. Someone may have a spare for sale. Wish I could do more to help but will search some sites and if I find them will shoot you the link.

LOL this thread made me laff til I nearly wet meself! :laughbounce: my 2000 had 2 screws in the plate holder, took them out and got lucky. Whomever put it on used smaller screws and overtightened them. Took a soft faced hammer and gently tapped the edges of the holes flat. Doesn't look bad at all. T...

I was going to say what OD said. I can't think of another way to recalibrate the individual guages than that. How ever i did read a post in the how too's that dealt with the replacing the motors for the gauges. Individual guage motor problem, jerking as it operates? If it's not jerky in movement you...

I have heard a lot of bad and good about ebay coilovers. Can anyone give me an idea of which ones are best. Ideally I want to do coilovers but budjet dictates otherwise at this point. I don't want to do this and have to redo it in a few thousand miles. The quality kits are upward of $1,200 from what...

where do I start?
Yup, what they said. I went a few steps further and added a VERY mild cam, MoPar Perfomance stage 1. I wish I had gone with at least a comp 200 but a 400 would be better still. Luckily mine is a 5 speed. I added the APG solid Mounts from Modern Performance, short throw shifter, and booger bushings. ...

this got me thinking so I went and checked my trans out. Wish I hadn't! Oh well it IS a 2000 so I have the 3.55. No wonder it doesn't pull all that well, sigh. I wouldn't run a foam filter on ym car. I have seen them come apart and deteriorate over time. I don't like the idea of anything being sucked into my engine other than clean cool air. I'll stick to my K&N. With the higher underhood temps of a boosted car I think the foam would go south rather quickl...

strange smoothness at idle
That's great Tom! I switched to Valvoline Synpower 5W-30 full synthetic and my engine is less noisy too. As for the smooth idle, idk, with AGP solid mounts it vibrates like a washing machine in an out of balance spin cycle lol. But I still love my Neon. Glad to hear it made a difference for ya. :thu...

early neon production
My car was built in April of 1999. It's interesting how the two examples were Depp Amethyst Pearl, that's the color on mine. This begs the question, did they build the cars in color batches or were they produced in random colors?

The car does see temps in the winter under 20 degrees for the most part. I live in the Tennessee Valley and the cold settles here. synthetic oil
Ok thanks guys. So if I understand correctly, the 5W-30 will be fine, that's acceptable. From what you are saying, the weights go along with conventional oils as to temp ranges, well, sorta lol. This is good info as have recently changed to a synthetic. Thanks again for helping me understand.
