Re: body stiffness

Has anyone made an attempt to stiffen the 2gn chassis beyond the strut tower bars? I was looking at the underside, I think I see a couple of places where some gussets. has anyone studied the weak points of our chassis ? Ive thought the same thing. like where longitudinal frame rails stop short of c...

So thats what the fuss is about? i thought it was people complaining of it being difficult to keep together when installing the arm.

You want to find an early build 2000 se with a 3.94 those are specifically not allowed in STF. hence 2001-2004 dont ask me what they have against the 2005's . 2001-2004 Neon (NOC) Note: this puts the slower models of the 2nd generation Neon in STF. While the generation split is at year 2000, the AC...

It's the 3.94 trans that they are outlawing. Which is very helpful coming out of the slow corners that from the vids I've seen dont exist at the national tours. And power for a r/t is only better above 5000 rpm. So yeah I'd say a lighter & lightened 2gn even with a 355 will be competitive especially...

For those not following the goings on at SCCA....I've been irritated the last couple seasons with my heavy 2600LB car (we'll leave my fat ass out of it;-) classed with 1900LB civics, so i wrote a letter to the SCCA SEB to reclass to the new STF and it actually worked ;-) Don't know why the R/T didn'...

besides NVH its mostly the same car so i dont get that line of logic if you narrow it down to "no major problems" = good car. same with the cloud car platform breeze/strati/sebring > sebring > 200 its still collection of minor tweaks but largly the same car. suddenly the 200 is now a "GREAT CAR". wh...

Re: Calculate Octane of ethanol and gas blended @ the pump!

Blended together that equeals 93octane according to the excel document and that saves me $12.45 Vs buying 93 octane @ 4.65 a gallon..... if your only issue is cost per octane. cost per mile is likely less with any ethanol blend. At $4 /gal "gas" I calculated E0 to be worth paying an additional $0.2...

before I'd ever put that much effort on a bolt, I'd put the torch to it. but yeah im surprised as well. I'd figure the blind nut would go long before the bolt does.

heat it up real good then you might be able to grab it and twist it out.

I guess I'm asking if I had a much stiffer spring rate, would I run bigger sway bars no not likely. The reason is that you already have more roll resistance from stock. Go to far and you will cause a wheel to skip over bumps. Figure out whatever spring-rate you want to run then use the bars to tune...

its all the same thing solve for TRQ. under 5252RPM, If you have more HP you have more trq.

HP = (TRQ * RPM) / 5252

But only running 87 and putting mods into the engine that can make more power with higher octane is kind of a waste. timk225: Unless you change pistons, a 2003 to 2005 2.0, will likely not knock due to the lower compression. (9.3:1) It will also not benefit from higher octane as much as a 9.8:1 or ...

Well, that part was more sarcasm, than a reference to actual drifting. Yup, understood. I thought the snipped vid I posted was funny because that’s about as close to drifting as FWD gets, unless you’re in reverse. That and it highlights the differences/challenges/counterintuitive of a FWD. if you l...
