Well its a huge warehouse, so the system holds a massive amount of pressurized water. Plus I didn't break it off all the way, just cracked it. So it took longer to drain. Had it broken off all the way, the fire department would have shown up. The water wasn't that deep and was contained to a 30'x30'...

Also, I'm looking for some more core transmissions. Mainly HD versions and good bellhousings. I do NOT need any early 1st gen style rear cases, the ones without the extra webbing. But I'll take the bellhousings. I'll pay $50 for a 1st gen core, $75 if it has a good bellhousing. $100 for an HD core w...

I used to have to drive a forklift 'back in the day', when I worked at a local K-Mart store, in their Home Center dept. We never did anything too stoopid - Mostly, we would try (desperately) to get the tires to spin and do burnouts..... which was almost impossible on that peice of crap. Was i...

Small nick in the I-beam, he hit the edge of it so it was the solid part. But a few inches away someone else hit it in the middle a while ago from other direction cuz there's a hole in it the shape of a fork. Obviously the fork took the brunt of it. Had he been to the left 2-3 inches, thr fork would...

Damn. I've bent the mast before, but never a fork. I figured they would just shatter under that kind of stress. How the hell did you bend a mast? They are 2 parallel I-beams welded together. They only bend when you smoke the hell out of something, like a pole holding up a building. I had to fix a m...

Not sure, never dyno'd it. Just some street tuning, mostly on my own but Erick made it alot better last October the night before I hit a 13.379 @ 101.07 mph. Probably over 200 whp since I'm still rocking full interior. We'll find out next spring after I get a new clutch and stuff put in it. I'm sure...
Wait I thought the race was September 23rd It is, but my car is out of commission until next spring. Plus he already ran 12's and my best time in the past 5 months was a 15.7 @ 81 mph with a 1.95 60' lol. I did run a 13.4 @ 102 with a 2.0 60' back in April but my 1st clutch grenaded 2 passes later:...
Well looks like Erick won. He busted out a few high 12's last weekend at the Neon event. Mine wasn't running right due to injector problems (my fault). Fixed the injector issue yesterday but while testing to see if it'd go past 6k (which it didn't do at the track but certainly did with different inj...

No worries guys- I plan to check in at a motel after the MI meet Sunday evening as I don't have to be back at work until Monday afternoon. I'll be okay driving up after I finish my shift but you all will probably have to put toothpicks under my eyelids. Yeah he's a crazy old guy, thinks he's ...

my vote for the cleared couch spot!! Gramps, I know you do this shit for a living, but I'd hate myself if something happens to you man on the way back home from hanging with us. Sure it'll be a good time but it isn't that serious. Get some rest man! Just crash at Mike's and go home Monday morning! ...

Doing the 4.12 is the same amount of work as doing a full rebuild since the output shaft is stripped down either way. Well I guess the only added step is swapping the ring gear, which takes maybe 10 minutes. If Ed has any more 4.12's, it's $350 for the gearset. So $1550 for a rebuilt 4.12, plus a $3...

Also having your crossover adjusted properly and a properly adjusted rod brake. Of course proper lubrication too. The shift forks are always stationary but while driving, the synchronizers are always spinning inside the shift forks. Having them rubbing against the slider ring will wear them out fast...

Does champhering help the holes from clogging again? Not really, it's for better oiling to the needle bearings under the gears. The only way the oil holes plug up is from debris getting in them. Changing the trans fluid every 20k or so will reduce the debris in it. Some debris is normal, tiny metal...

I'll be in rockford tomorrow. Otherwise I'm too busy to meet up to grab it. I charge $1200 to do a full rebuild, that's what I was suggesting. Includes all parts and return shipping. Case is blasted and clear coated as well. $1000 if you come get it. $600 to take it apart, clean it up, install new s...
